Takeda Castle Ruins-Visit Japan's Machu Picchu and experience the charm of the ancient city
When I was a kid watching cartoons, I always saw plots with islands floating in the clouds. I never expected that! The "Takeda Castle Ruins" in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan is surrounded by clouds from autumn to early winter every year, making the Takeda Castle feel like it is floating in the clouds, hence the name "Castle in the Sky". This ancient city ruins located at an altitude of 350 meters, although only stone walls remain, the scenery intertwined with nature is stunning. Although we didn't see the sea of clouds when we arrived that day, the view looking down from the mountains was so breathtaking. I personally think that Takeda Castle Ruins is a must-visit tourist destination when you come to Hyogo Prefecture~
Takeda Castle was selected as one of Japan's 100 famous castles in 2006. In addition, it is also known as "Japan's Machu Picchu". Although there was no fog, the weather on that day was pretty good and the scenery was unobstructed
Takeda Castle is very large, about 400 meters long from north to south and about 100 meters wide from east to west
Due to the Edo Shogunate's "One Country, One Castle" order, Takeda Castle was abandoned and demolished in 1600. Now there are only stone walls, moats, wells and other ruins
