Handmade Udon and Affordable Comfort Food at Tamoya Udon
Tamoya Udon is known for its handmade udon noodles, affordable Japanese comfort food, and free-flow condiments, making it a popular spot for those who enjoy a hearty and satisfying meal. Originally located at Liang Court, the eatery has since moved to Suntec City, continuing to serve fresh, chewy udon with rich, flavorful broths.
We tried the Sukiyaki Set, which comes with a choice of sukiyaki broth or spicy miso broth, paired with beef, pork, or salmon belly. The broth was packed with umami, complementing the chewy udon and tender meat. We also had the Oden Sukiyaki, a comforting bowl of oden simmered in sukiyaki broth.
Tamoya’s tempura selection is also worth mentioning. Light, crispy, and not overly greasy, their tempura pairs well with the udon dishes. With many items priced under $10, it’s a great place for an affordable and satisfying meal. The free-flow condiments, including green onions, tempura flakes, and chili, allow diners to adjust flavors to their liking.
