Because of its strategic position, it was once perhaps one of the most international cities in Morocco and one that has left a lasting mark on this cute little city. This being said, the city is also blessed with lovely sea views. Today, its historic center, the Medina, is a lovely maze of old narrow streets that blend Moroccan and several other international styles. The whitewashed buildings that line the historic quarter make for lovely photos and is a lovely place to spend a morning or afternoon discovering the rich past of this city. There is also a souk which is an incredible place to see the daily lives of Moroccans. This is a more traditional part of the city that has kept it's distinct identity. You'll find plenty of markets and cafes that are interesting to visit. The city also has a very cosmopolitan feel to it with the many hotels and malls that line the area surrounding the train station. A wonderful city that is great to explore.
