The capital, Valletta, is a city that retains a medieval atmosphere. It has a slightly different atmosphere from other European countries. A bit Arabic? Islamic? That's the vibe I got. Valletta is a city with a lot of ups and downs, with fortresses and many ups and downs. There are also prosperous areas and resort-like parts! You can get around Valletta by bus! From Valletta, you can take a day trip to see the Blue Grotto and go to Marsaxlokk, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and a market on weekends! In Marsaxlokk, you can see traditional Maltese boats! They are colorful and cute! The seafood is also delicious, so be sure to go! The Blue Grotto is called the Blue Grotto. You don't need to make a reservation, so be sure to go on a nice day! Fly to Malta with Emirates! There are no direct flights, so you have to transfer at least once! On the way from Dubai to Malta, we waited for passengers getting off and boarding at Larnaca Airport, so we landed and waited on the plane for about 1 hour and 30 minutes💦 Malta Airport is small, so it's easy to find. If you want to buy a bus card, it's probably easier to buy it at the airport. This time we stayed at the Preluna Hotel in Sliema! The location was quite good and the reception was very friendly, but the refrigerator in the room was not cold enough, so the prosciutto and yogurt I bought went bad, the cleaners didn't clean depending on the person, the spoon I used the day before was still in the cup, and the amenities said that there was a bathrobe, but there wasn't one, so it was a problem😭 The location is good! Mdina, Valletta, and Citadel are buildings that don't exist in Japan and were quite attractive✨ St. Peter's Pool and Blue Grotto were so beautiful and transparent that I felt like I was being sucked in, and I wanted to jump in. The ferry to Gozo was quite large and wide. You can buy a round trip ticket for the Gozo ferry on your way back or book online. I really liked the Salt Pans on Gozo! I'm looking forward to getting some Gozo salt and using it in my cooking♪ I heard that rabbit dishes are famous, but I don't eat rabbit because I'm reluctant to eat it. There are about three types of pastizzi, and the chicken, cheese, and vegetables were delicious. The Malta supermarket has a lot of cheese, prosciutto, and wine, so I was quite confused😂 The cashiers are generally unfriendly lol. You have to bag the items yourself and there isn't much space, so be careful because if you don't hurry, the next person's bags will keep coming! The vegan gelato was made like rose petals, and you could have as many flavors as you wanted, and it was refreshing and delicious. Overall, most of the staff were expressionless. It didn't seem friendly. I walked along the sea side of Sliema towards Independence Park, where I could relax while looking at the sea, and it was my favorite place. On our bus journey to one of Malta’s southern most towns - the heavens opened - not great when you’re sitting on a leaky bus! But by the time we got to Marsaxlokk, pronounced as Marsa Shlock, things were a lot calmer. This village, on the southern tip - is Malta’s largest fishing village. But it’s also famous for its colourful luzzu boats that adorn the harbour. It’s a picture perfect town, and a great place to whittle away a few hours admiring the scenery and watching the world go by. #getgoing2025 Tartarun Restaurant Lunch at the Tartarn Restaurant in Marsaxlokk was the highlight of the trip. I ordered a seafood pasta dish that was fresh, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and truly exquisite. The restaurant is very popular and always packed at lunchtime, which speaks volumes about the quality of the food. The waitstaff was very friendly and provided excellent service. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, a great place to enjoy a meal. Malta is a small country, and you can easily get around by taxi, so why not go to Marsaxlokk on a weekend morning? A friend of mine told me about it, so we went on a weekend trip together. Just search for Marsaxlokk Open Market on Google Maps and you'll find it! A variety of souvenirs at reasonable prices that you wouldn't expect in Europe...o(^▽^)o The most recommended shop is the one selling lace and textiles near the entrance to the market (in front of Santwarju tal-Madonna ta' Pompei)! They're very cute, but for just 5€ you can buy the best souvenirs that will last you a long time. Also, if you want to buy salt or spices, I recommend looking all the way to the back before buying! Malta's specialty salt is a divine salt that makes food taste so good that it's worth buying even for 3.5€, but after walking for a while, I found the exact same thing being sold for 2.5€😇 (I bought it) Just pretend you didn't see it and keep going! ! ! ! You can take a pin-up shot with the best view (last photo). It's hard to see, but there's a stone path that juts out into the sea, so you can take the best picture! (I should have stood there...) ⚠️Make sure to research the restaurant before you go! The taste varies ⚠️It's really hot in the summer! Don't forget your parasol and water! ⚠️I went around 10am, and the seafood section was so smelly that I felt sick! The fish that were landed without ice were exposed to the sun, so I don't think it's good for them...^_^ ⚠️Even though it's surrounded by the sea, raw fish is definitely tastier in Japan. It's a pity that our hotel does not have a kitchen, otherwise, we could really buy some and cook ourselves. Although it's a fish market, it feels more like a small commodity market. In addition to seafood, there are also vegetables, fruits, alcohol, clothing, and various other types of stalls. All kinds of small commodities are available.
