A Delicious Greek Meal in Afytos
During our visit to the charming village of Afytos, Halkidiki, my husband and I had an authentic Greek dining experience. We were allured to a little taverna by a friendly and multilingual waiter who helped us choose our meals.
We started with a Greek salad that was a vibrant medley of fresh vegetables, olives, and feta cheese, perfectly seasoned with olive oil and herbs. The tzatziki dip, served with warm, crusty bread, was a creamy delight, bursting with the flavors of garlic and cucumber. The highlight of the meal was the chicken souvlaki. We were so eager to try it that I only took the photo after we ate one of the three skewers. All dishes, plus two lemonades, cost 32.5 Euros, and we were so full that we could not take offered sweets afterward.
The combination of delicious food and the picturesque setting of Afytos made for an unforgettable dining experience. I
recommend 'Taverna to Steki' if you are looking to enjoy traditional Greek cuisine in a relaxed outdoor environment.

A Charming Cobbled Town in Greece
During my visit to Greece, I had the pleasure of visiting the charming cobbled town of Afytos, thanks to a recommendation from a local restaurant owner. Nestled in the Halkidiki region, Afytos is a hidden gem that truly exceeded my expectations.
The town’s picturesque streets are lined with traditional stone-built houses and vibrant flowers, creating a postcard-perfect setting. As I wandered through the narrow alleys, I was captivated by the blend of history and culture that permeates every corner. The central square is a lively hub, surrounded by quaint cafes and tavernas where you can savor delicious local cuisine.
One of the highlights of Afytos is its stunning views of the Toroneos Gulf. The crystal-clear waters and serene beaches provide a perfect backdrop for relaxation.
Afytos is a place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in its beauty and tranquility. If you’re looking for an authentic Greek experience, this charming cobbled town is definitely worth a visit.
