Visit the salt lake in Siwa, an Egyptian oasis town

Salt Lake in Siwa, an oasis town in Egypt💙
When you think of Egypt, everyone thinks of the pyramids, the Sphinx, Abu Simbel, and mummies, but the place I highly recommend after traveling around Egypt for 8 months is the salt lake in Siwa! ❤️
Even people who can't swim can leisurely float around! I tried to sink, but it never sinks because of the salt 😆
Something to watch out for is that if you have a wound, it's better not to do it
and you should never touch your face with the water
When you arrive at Siwa, you have to bargain
but 200 pounds was a reasonable price after agreeing with the tuk-tuk drivers
200 pounds (about 5,600 won)
▪️Included
Cleopatra Hot Springs + Salt Lake + Crescent Hot Springs
The 9th and 10th pictures are Cleopatra Hot Springs and Crescent Hot Springs

Camping in Siwa Oasis
I made the 10 hour drive (with a private driver) from Cairo to Siwa Oasis and discovered a land of pure bliss!
Siwa is in the western desert of Egypt and it feels like a completely different place. It has its own people (Berber-speaking Sudanic people) and they live in these really interesting mud houses.
There are a few sights to see in Siwa like the Cleopatra Spring, Fatnas Island (best sunset), Salt lakes (such a cool experience), Oracle Temple, Shali Fortress and many more.
I spent some time with a local guide who told me all about the history and local culture and I enjoyed my relaxed evenings at the boho campsite where you can choose air conditioned cottages or the simple fanned hotels. My camp provided breakfast and dinner which were always delicious and even though I was on my own, I never felt lonely.
There are different types of hotels and camp sites all around Siwa and they offer a calm and peaceful environment. There are also plenty of souvenir stores ones you enter the town side near the fortress and a few local restaurants.

Paradise of Egypt, Siwa Oasis
We stayed in a hotel called Siwa Relax Retreat. It was an Eco Lodge with no electricity in the rooms, just candles. You could charge your phones in the main reception area. The main attraction here is the salt lake in which the rooms are very close to. The rooms have salt rocks on the floor, so you need something on your feet when you get out of bed. The air here is so clean, and sleeping surrounded by salt rocks is very beneficial to your health. #awesomepic

Salt lakes and their unique charm in every location.
The salt lakes in Siwa are fascinating because they come in various forms. Some are small and deep, while others are vast and seemingly endless. The water colors also vary, ranging from deep blue to light turquoise, and they change depending on the sunlight, creating a stunning visual effect. Among them, the lakes with deep, dark hues that seem bottomless are particularly mysterious. Despite being salt lakes, each one offers a completely different allure, making it enjoyable to explore and admire. I remember spending a long time marveling at their beauty. Make sure to find the prettiest spots!

The place where I took a bath
#HawaiiAirlineEvent I put on my swimsuit and went into the water myself, and the bottom was soft and the water wasn't as deep as I thought, so I was able to float comfortably. The sunlight reflecting off the water was so pretty, and it was a really good point to take pictures around. It wasn't crowded, so I was able to leisurely enjoy playing in the water, and I was satisfied that it was a time to cool off from the heat and heal in nature during my trip to Egypt.

Cleopatra
#HawaiiFlightEvent As soon as I arrived at Cleopatra's Spring, I couldn't believe that there was such a mysterious place in the middle of the Egyptian desert. It was a small oasis-like place that I arrived at after running through the desert, and the sight of the clear water was impressive. When I dipped my feet in the water, I was surprised at how cool it was, and the local guide explained that there was a legend that Cleopatra also used this water, which made it feel even more mysterious. The area around the spring was quiet and peaceful, and when I got into the water and immersed my body, I felt my tension melt away.

Siwa Palace Lodge was truly an unforgettable and amazing place to stay. The unique dome-shaped rooms, designed in traditional Siwa style, allowed us to fully experience the charm of Egypt. The interior was both antique and comfortable, with soft and cozy bedding that helped relieve fatigue. Additionally, the sulfur hot spring bath was the perfect spot for relaxation during the trip. Soaking in the warm water while feeling connected to nature was incredibly soothing. The swimming pool was clean and spacious, providing plenty of opportunities to enjoy leisure time. Breakfast was delightful, featuring fresh egg dishes, fruits, and juice, which were all very satisfying. Moreover, the ability to use the kitchen to cook with local ingredients was a major advantage. Everything was perfectly prepared, making our stay here a truly special experience.

Accommodation that also provides a hearty breakfast
#HawaiiAirlineEvent The breakfast provided at Siwa Palace Lodge was really satisfying. In addition to fresh egg dishes, there were various fruits and juices prepared, and the local fruits were especially sweet and delicious, which was great for starting the morning. Twinkling twinkling
#HawaiiAirTicketEvent The Cleopatra Spring water, which we arrived at by riding a tuk-tuk through the desert, was more beautiful than we could have imagined. The emerald water sparkled under the hot sun, and the locals were naturally enjoying swimming. The atmosphere was different because of the legend that an ancient queen enjoyed bathing there. The moment I dipped my feet in the water, I felt like all my fatigue was gone, and the surrounding scenery was picturesque, making it perfect for taking pictures. If you go to Siwa, this is a must-see spot.

The spring where Cleopatra bathed
#HawaiiAirlineEvent When I arrived at Cleopatra Spring by tuk-tuk from Siwa, I thought this was what a real oasis was like. In the middle of the desert, there was a circular pool filled with emerald water, and local children were happily playing in the water. It felt mystical because they say that even ancient queens dipped themselves in this water, and even just dipping my feet made my whole body feel cool. Thanks to the tuk-tuk tour, I can easily go to hidden spots without a guide, so this is a course I really want to recommend. The water is so beautiful and sparkling. It was a great experience to visit such a place, and it will remain in my memory.

The clear and clean spring water felt refreshing with every sip, and the surrounding natural scenery was peaceful as if time had stopped. When I sat quietly listening to the sound of the water, I felt like I was being healed and away from all my daily life. There weren't many tourists here, so I was able to spend time in a more quiet and leisurely atmosphere, and I was also able to feel the mysterious atmosphere of ancient times. It was a place I highly recommend to those who really want to spend time with nature.

A Cozy Restaurant Near Cleopatra's Spring
I enjoyed spaghetti and mango juice at a small shop in front of Cleopatra's spring. The refreshing sound of the clear spring water paired with delicious food made me feel more relaxed and peaceful. The spaghetti was simple yet flavorful, with the sauce perfectly infused, and the mango juice was fresh and sweet, lifting my mood with every sip. Speaking of this place, it's a place everyone should visit.
#HawaiiFlightEvent The Temple of the Oracle is an ancient ruin in the desert that left a strong impression on its own. The quiet atmosphere and the vast desert surrounding the ruins made it feel like time travel. Although many parts of the temple were damaged, its grandeur could still be felt, and the mysterious energy of ancient Egypt seemed to be alive and breathing everywhere. When I visited after learning of the historical fact that Alexander the Great received an oracle here, its meaning became even deeper. Since there were not many tourists, I was able to quietly tour the ruins and contemplate, which made it an even more special experience.

Mysterious places in Egypt
#HawaiiFlightEvent The Temple of the Oracle was a place that preserved the mystery of ancient Egypt. It was located in the middle of the desert, so I could feel a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The temple itself was somewhat damaged, but it still felt like a place with great historical value. The story that Alexander the Great visited here and asked the will of the gods and received an answer makes this temple even more sacred. In the loneliness and quietness of the vast desert around the ruins, I was able to experience a special moment where the past and present intersect. It was nice to be able to look around quietly because people didn't go there.

Oracle Spot Photo Spot
The Temple of the Oracle was a place where one could feel the ancient mysteries amidst the tranquil desert. Located in the heart of the desert, the journey to reach it was long, but the sense of awe upon arrival was immense. Although most of the temple's columns and walls were damaged, they still held the history and mysteries of ancient Egypt, making the site even more captivating. The legend that Alexander the Great received an oracle here added to its uniqueness, and exploring the ruins slowly allowed visitors to imagine the lives of people from that era. The surrounding silence made it a perfect spot for solitude and reflection.

Here are some photos
#HawaiiFlightEvent The Temple of the Oracle was a small but impressive ruin. When I arrived after running through the desert, I felt a quiet and mysterious atmosphere that was completely different from the surroundings. Although there were many traces of the temple collapse, the energy remaining inside was still strong. In particular, I became cautious with every step as I thought, ‘Did the oracle really come down here?’ From afar, it was impressive to see it standing quietly on a hill, and when I climbed up, I could see Siwa Oasis at a glance, so the view was also great. It was a unique place where ancient times and nature came together.

pretty spot
#HawaiiFlightEvent The Temple of the Oracle was the most impressive place among the ancient ruins of Siwa Oasis. The ruins themselves are not large, but the historical significance contained within them is very deep. It was a unique experience to encounter such a sacred place in the middle of the Egyptian desert. The story that Alexander the Great visited this place in person and received an oracle stimulated my imagination, and each and every collapsed wall and pillar seemed to preserve time. I recommend visiting at sunset to feel a more mysterious atmosphere with the glow of the sunset. It was also nice that there were not many tourists, so I could quietly appreciate the ruins.

The scenery is beautiful.
#HawaiiFlightEvent The Temple of the Oracle was the most tranquil and sacred space during my trip to Siwa Oasis. The surrounding area was a barren desert, but the ruins were quietly located in the middle of it, making it feel as if time had stopped. The old stone pillars and walls were badly damaged, but their naturalness was even more mysterious. It was a new experience to think that ancient people asked for the will of the gods here, and I also understood why Alexander the Great came all the way here. There were few tourists and it was quiet, so it was the perfect place to spend time alone, and it was a good place to take a walk while organizing my thoughts.

This pretty
#HawaiiFlightEvent The Temple of the Oracle, the Temple of Amun, was like a quiet ancient trace in the desert. It was not large in scale, but the atmosphere itself was unique and memorable. It took a long time to drive from Siwa Oasis to get there, and the ruins standing tall in the open landscape were impressive. Walking between the stone structures, I felt like I was going back in time to ancient Egypt, and I was even more immersed because there was no sound except the sound of the wind. The interior of the temple is simple, but that made it feel more real, and it was fun to imagine the legend of Alexander the Great.

Great place
#HawaiiFlightEvent The Temple of the Oracle, the Temple of Amun, was the most mysterious place during my trip to Siwa Oasis. It was hard to believe that such a huge temple ruin remained in the middle of the desert, and I could feel the mysterious energy of ancient Egypt. The temple is not large, but the quiet surroundings created a more sacred and solemn atmosphere. In particular, as I walked slowly, recalling the story that Alexander the Great actually came here and received an oracle, I felt like I had entered history. Every time I walked between the stone pillars and ruins, I felt a strange feeling of being connected to the past, and it was also a good place for quiet meditation.

Hey, ear
#HawaiiFlightEvent Soaking my feet in Cleopatra Hot Springs, drinking a cup of tea in the middle of the desert, and watching the sunset made me think, ‘I’m so glad I came here.’ The salt lake was so special that I could even experience floating on the water, and the star-filled night sky was beyond description. The most peaceful and unforgettable time during my trip to Egypt passed in Siwa.
