👣 First stop: August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall
The August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall is a special memorial hall established to commemorate the Nanchang Uprising. It was founded in 1956 and officially opened to the public on October 1, 1959. The memorial hall is located at No. 380 Zhongshan Road, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, covering an area of 5,903 square meters. The hall’s foyer retains core elements such as the “First Shot” and “Military Flag” and, for the first time, features a large panoramic sculpture, a national first among memorial halls. The exhibition includes large multimedia scenes like “Attack on the Enemy Command Headquarters,” 360-degree holographic cabinets, and multi-channel surround projection technology, enhancing the exhibition’s expressiveness, appeal, and impact. At the “Place Where the Military Flag Was Raised,” relive the earth-shattering first shot. Through precious historical photos, artifacts, and realistic scene restorations, immerse yourself in that turbulent and heroic era and deeply understand the red gene of the hero city Nanchang.

Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural Block in Nanchang, Jiangxi, is known as the “No. 1 Street of Ganpo Culture.” It is a microcosm where Nanchang’s urban memory and trendy culture intertwine. Centered around the 1,600-year-old iron pillar Wanshou Palace, it was once one of the three major commercial centers in southern Jiangnan during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The National AAAA-level tourist attraction, Nanchang Han Dynasty Haihun Marquis State Heritage Park, is located in the northeast of Xinjian District, bordered by Poyang Lake to the north and the Gan River to the east. The site is rich in content and large in scale, consisting of the capital Zijin City ruins of the Haihun Marquis State, the first-generation Haihun Marquis Liu He’s tomb at Dingdun Mountain, and a western tomb cluster, forming a core series of important remains including the city site, successive Haihun Marquis cemeteries, and noble and commoner burial grounds. It is currently the largest, best-preserved, most complete, and richest typical Han Dynasty marquis state capital settlement site discovered in China. Step into this “underground palace” museum, where piles of horse hoof gold and exquisite bronze wild goose lamps are right before your eyes! It’s like traveling back over 2,000 years to the Western Han Dynasty. Archaeology enthusiasts and history lovers must not miss it!
