Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street starts from Tenjinbashi Bridge and extends to Tenjinbashi-suji 7-chome in the north, with a total length of about 2.6 kilometers. It is known as the longest shopping street in Japan, and it takes about 40 minutes to walk. The entrance is decorated with dolls to welcome guests. As soon as you enter the arcade, you will see a row upon row of old-fashioned public dining halls, home-style restaurants, and a tea shop, a tofu shop, and fried potatoes that were founded in the first year of the Meiji era. Butcher shop, pottery shop, kimono shop waiting, about 600 shops. It first began to flourish in the Edo period. The second-chome "Osaka Tenmangu Shrine" enshrines Sugawara Michizane, the god of learning, right in front of Tenmangu Shrine. After entering the Meiji era, it developed into the current shopping street. Located in the "Osaka Life Museum" in 6-chome, it reproduces the changes of the local streetscape from the Edo period through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. When the "Tenjin Festival" is held on July 24th and 25th every year, the local gods come here, as well as stalls and performers, full of vigor.
