Day 1: Travel to Vientiane and travel around the city. 🛬
• Morning:
Arrive at Wattay International Airport (VTE) in Vientiane. ✈️
• Getting into the city: Take a taxi from the airport to the city center (about 15 minutes).
• Check in to a hotel in the city center, such as along the Mekong River.
• Afternoon:
• Visit Pha That Luang (Pha That Luang) 🛕, an important symbol of Laos.
• Getting there: Take a tuk-tuk or taxi from your accommodation.
• Continue to Patuxai (Patuxai) 🌟, an important landmark of Vientiane. And go up to see the view on the Victory Gate
• Evening:
• Take a walk along the Mekong River at the Night Market along the Mekong 🛍️
• Try local Lao food such as Laab Ped, Lao sausage or Lao papaya salad 🥗
Day 2: Visit Vang Vieng (Vang Vieng) 🏞️
• Morning:
• Travel from Vientiane to Vang Vieng (3 hours)
• Travel: Take a bus or minivan or the Lao-China Railway high-speed train 🚆
• Check in at the accommodation along the Song River (Recommended accommodation with mountain and river views)
• Afternoon:
• Enjoy kayaking or swimming in the Song River 🛶
• Visit Tham Chang Cave 🗿 See the cave and beautiful views from above
• Transportation: Rent a motorbike or bicycle to ride
• Evening:
• Walk around the Vang Vieng Night Market 🛍️
• Try local food such as grilled fish steak or Khao Jee (Lao-style sandwich)
Day 3: Enjoy the natural view & return 🚞✈️
• Morning:
• Wake up early to see the mountain view and mist in Vang Vieng 🌄
• Walk on the bamboo bridge along the Song River Take beautiful photos
• Line:
• Travel back to Vientiane by train or bus
• If you have time, stop by Wat Sisaket 🛕 An ancient temple with thousands of Buddha statues
• Afternoon:
• Travel back to Wattay International Airport to catch your flight home 🛫
Advice:
• Use Lao Kip (LAK) and bring cash with you because some places may not accept credit cards.
• If traveling in winter (Nov-Feb), the weather will be cool and comfortable, perfect for traveling.
