When you search for pretty cafes while traveling in Melbourne, the place that always comes up is Hoptown Tea Room! It's so famous and visited by many tourists. It's inside Block Arcade, and the desserts are displayed so that you can see them all at the entrance, so it looks really delicious. They also sell a variety of brunch items, and you can order drinks, desserts, etc.! (This may be a subjective review!) We didn't really like the food..!😂 Even for us who eat both omelettes and French toast, Melbourne's food is still a funny episode to the point that we use it as a joke! As I wandered through the arcade, I couldn’t help but admire the attention to detail in every archway and storefront. The atmosphere was lively yet refined, with boutique shops, specialty stores, and charming cafés lining the arcade. Each turn revealed something special, from artisan chocolates to high-end fashion and unique gifts that reflected Melbourne’s creative spirit. The arcade offers a boutique shopping experience that’s enhanced by carved-stone ceilings, a glass canopy, and mosaic-tile flooring. Highlights include Haigh’s Chocolates and Hopetoun Tearooms, renowned for its window display. The arcade which was erected between 1891 and 1893 was designed by architect David C. Askew whose brief was to produce something similar to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan. The result was one of Melbourne's most richly decorated interior spaces, replete with mosaic tiled flooring, glass canopy, wrought iron and carved stone finishings.
