First stop is Dim Sum at Jiah Xiang at Plaza Sentosa. Dim sum is not bad and relatively affordable. Love the stir fried carrot cake. After that, we dropped by Mid Valley Southkey. The mall is well-decorated with christmas decor and there are few photo spots for you to take pictures and soak in the Christmas vibe. Took a little break after shopping at the mall and went to eat Penang Chendol. The Chendol taste slightly different from Singapore due to the milk. #familytrips2024 This year we celebrate Mother's Day at Daiman Pekin Restaurant in the Daiman 18 Golf Club clubhouse in Johor Jaya. We sat by a window with a nice view of the golf course. The restaurant looks really nice, with everything carefully designed by professionals. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. We love dishes like Claypot Sea Cucumber Scallop Stew, Crispy Prawns Salad, and Claypot Salted Fish Minced Meat Tofu. But the Peking Duck was a bit dry for us. They also have different drinks like tea, juice, and wine. Must order the dessert Mango Pomelo Sago shaved ice, so delicious. Our check-in experience, however, left much to be desired. Upon our arrival at 1 pm, we promptly dropped off our luggage before heading out for lunch. Yet, when we returned at 3 pm to retrieve our room keys and belongings, we found ourselves queuing at the concierge for a frustrating 35 minutes. A more efficient check-in system could significantly enhance the guest experience. Despite this initial setback, the hotel did offer a redeemable welcome drink—a refreshing guava ice blend—at their rooftop bar. Complimentary Bandung drink and water were also available in the lobby, though finding seating amidst the hotel's popularity proved challenging. Entering our room, we were greeted by a spacious and luminous interior. The room boasted a cozy window lounge area, plush bedding, essential amenities including toiletries and an iron board, as well as a convenient refillable water jug (located in the corridor). While the majority of the room was pristine, one of the pillows emitted a sour odor, and we noticed slight staining on the bathroom floor. The hotel's expansive gym offered an array of equipment, while the pool, though slightly compact, afforded picturesque views of Johor. However, on our Sunday visit, we detected a faint odor emanating from the pool, possibly indicating infrequent cleaning. Breakfast surpassed our expectations, showcasing an impressive array of pastries and Malaysian delicacies, with the standout being their teh tarik. Despite the breakfast's excellence, securing a table proved challenging, especially around peak hours. This hotel excels in convenience and culinary offerings, our experience was marred by lengthy queues and cleanliness issues. Nonetheless, for those seeking proximity to shopping and entertainment options, this hotel remains a compelling choice. #familytrips2024

I recently dined at Sushi Shin JB and was thoroughly impressed by both the service and the food. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure our dining experience was top-notch from start to finish. As for the food, each dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the attention to detail in every bite was evident. I particularly enjoyed very much. This restaurant and its omakase Chef have exceeded our expectations for the second time, making our special occasions truly memorable. Our first experience on my birthday and second experience on our wedding anniversary, showcased the Chef's dedication and effort in crafting a delightful omakase dinner. Each visit offered a unique array of flavours, and we were thoroughly impressed with the culinary expertise. We want to express our gratitude for the delicious and enjoyable dining experiences. Without a doubt, we'll be returning for more omakase experiences. Highly recommend this restaurant to all who appreciate exceptional food and service! Next time will try the other menu with more dishes and most importantly the price is reasonable!
