Tomb of Xiang Yu The Tomb of Xiang Yu originally had 99.5 rooms, because Xiang Yu failed to become emperor, so half a room was missing. In 202 BC, Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu, was defeated and committed suicide by the Wu River. Xiang Yu's remains and blood-stained clothes were buried on the spot, hence the name "Tomb of Clothes and Crown."
