2025 Stockport Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

Very disappointed with this my second trip with Trip.com from Cheltenham to Stockport,first trip was fine but this trip not so,I was given with seat reservations for only part of the journey and when I spoke to one of your advisors I was told contact Cross Country to arrange seats,when I did I was informed that my return journey was not direct which was not what I had asked for,the XC advisor told me to get a slightly later train which he reserved seats for me and that my tickets were good for that journey,however on the return trip I was told by the ticket inspector on the train that my tickets weren’t valid,this plus the fact that these tickets were 50% dearer than the the one’s bought in March.

Sadly not the result we wanted, out on penalties to Leyton Orient, but we move on 🩵🤍⚽

If you’re in Manchester and looking for a traditional English Pub then the Elizabethan would be a good decision. It is a big pub that is elegant and sheek with a family orientated vibe. They have a full menu which is varied in style and they have free wifi too. There is a lot of outdoor space too which is very popular when the weather is nice. Throughout the pub there are lots of different paintings and pieces of art adding to the overall vibe.

Walking around the streets of Stockport, many buildings are over a hundred years old and still inhabited by houses, small shops, markets and so on. Walking past a bank, it turns out to be hundreds of years old, very well preserved. Reddish Ale House is a new & quirky craft brewery bar in Stockport. It’s a small and intimate place with a nice atmosphere and full range of drink on offer (even though it is an ale house). They offer food in the morning and some snacks later on in the day and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. There are a few little places like this opening up so it could become part of a bar crawl in the area #urbanexplorer #mytripvlog

I recently went to a cute little cafe in Manchester that does a nice little brunch deal - 2 cocktails and a meal for £17! From the outside, it looks like quite a small place but it is bigger once you go in there with a nice tea room setting inside. There is free wifi inside so it’s a great place to work from although it is a bit small inside. The staff are very lovely and accommodating #foodie #urbanexplorer
