Jinghong central golden Pagoda is a huge and impressive building located right next to the night market area of downtown Jinghong. Also known as Dajin pagoda it is the largest active buddhist temple in the region. Unfortunately the temple interior is currently closed for construction but maybe people will be able to venture inside later this year again. The Pagoda looks stunning at night time when it is lit up from all around, i highly recommend walking past the temple and down into the night markets after 7pm. Construction of the grand Dajinta Temple in Jinghong began officially on November 16, 2009, and the topping out ceremony was successfully held on November 3, 2010. This tall structure has a very exotic charm, with classic Southeast Asian architectural style. In Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture's Jinghong City, 'Gaozhuang Xishuangjing' is a transliteration from the Dai language, meaning 'Nine Pagodas and Twelve Villages'. Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple A three-day trip to Banna with a great experience. This is my second time to Banna. I was deeply attracted by the strong tropical style and delicious Dai cuisine last time. I have already visited all the major attractions around Banna last time, and the main purpose of this time is to lie flat in Gaozhuang, and relax and stroll around. There are not many attractions in the urban area of Banna, or they are similar. The only ones worth visiting are Gaozhuang centered on the Big Golden Pagoda and Manting Park in Jinghong City (connected to the General Buddhist Temple). Slow down and don't miss every alley in Gaozhuang. It seems that every alley in Gaozhuang can lead to the central Big Golden Pagoda, and every alley can make you see the shadow of Chiang Mai. Avoid the crowds of 199 travel shots at night, if you can withstand the scorching sun of Banna during the day, you can see a different Big Golden Pagoda with one person. Rent a small electric donkey, ride to the opposite bank of the Lancang River, and watch the Big Golden Pagoda with a group of "little elephants" at the Music Fountain Square. In Banna, as long as you slow down, you don't need a strategy, and you can spend a few leisurely and comfortable days in Southeast Asia.

I went there during the Chinese national holiday. The weather was a bit rainy but cool , and the air was crisp. 🏨 Hotel : Rating 5/5. I stayed at the Xishuangbanna Yiren Hotel, located about 15mins from the airport and 10mins walk from the Starlight market. The hotel was clean and the staff friend , I almost didn't book it because of the reviews I saw, happy I made the decision to stay there. They offer free airport pickup. I was lucky to be the only one , they used a BMW X5 . 🥗 Food : Rating 5/5 . You must try the Mango sticky rice dessert. 🏞 Attractions I visited: 1. The Great/Golden Pagoda of Jinghong - beautiful view . Rating 4.5/5. 2. The wild elephant park- don't go up the cable way , there's nothing to see , unless you'd like to see trees for 30mins. To see the wild elephants , it is suggested to go very early in the morning, and walk up the hill( stairs ) . Rating 4/5. 3. Big Buddha temple , the architecture was simply amazing ,it's worth a look. Rating 5/5. 4. Manting park - it was small but worth the visit for a light stroll. Rating 4/5 because of the cost and size, it's really small . 5. Star light Yao night market - amazing , there's so much to see and there were staged traditional dances while I was there in October. Rating 5/5. 🏙 Best skyline view of the river and Jinghong can be captured from Aisha Bay Sky River View Sunset-艾莎湾。空中江景日落泰式料理 , located on the 28th floor . The location is a bit strange as once you enter the room , you'll take a flight of narrow stairs to the top floor, you can order a drink and enjoy the view.
