This is my second stay at The Murray, Hong Kong, and there will definitely be a third, a fourth... Highly recommended! 💛This building has a rich history, previously known as the Murray Building, a government office block, later transformed into the hotel it is today with a 1 billion dollar investment! The pure white exterior and minimalist decor are very appealing! The hotel is picturesque everywhere, and every random photo looks great! I've stayed here twice and both times 'participated' in someone else's wedding. 💛This time I chose the most basic room type, the Superior Room, 36 square meters, because it was a last-minute decision on Saturday, so the room rate was 3500/night. Last time I stayed in the N2 room type, 50 square meters (💯 awesome, recommended! With a bathtub and a living room❗️), the price is probably 3500-4500/night on regular days, not sure about holidays though. 💛The hotel is located in the heart of Central; a five-minute walk to the Peak Tram entrance; a five-minute walk to Li Ka-shing's Cheung Kong Park; a ten-minute walk to the subway station; nearby are Lan Kwai Fong, Landmark, etc. 💛The hotel's service is very thoughtful! After check-in, a staff member will escort you to your room and give a detailed introduction to the hotel's floor services and room amenities. In the evening, there is a turndown service, and the hotel arranges a sleep spray that can be sprayed on the pillow to help you sleep well and have sweet dreams! And the beds in this hotel are so comfortable!!! 💛There is a very beautiful bar on the top floor of the hotel. It’s my first time visiting this restaurant, and I’d say it is great value for quite exquisite dishes. The menu has quite a number of interesting dishes (particularly seafood) not typically found in upscale Chinese restaurants. Every dish we ordered was tasty. We had the red crab steamed with egg white and yellow wine (花雕蛋白蒸花蟹). Full of flavours and there’s a lot of meat. Egg white with smooth and you taste the hint of yellow wine - definitely a dish I would order again. The braised bitter melon in broth (翡翠玉枕) was one of their signature dishes. Bitter melon was finely chopped into thin slices soaked in their house broth. Very impressive too, but since I’m not a bitter melon fan, I did not love this dish. Their deep-fried crispy chicken in scallion sauce (紅棉蔥油雞) was recommended by the manager to us. We loved it - chicken skin was beautifully fried and so crispy, meat was tender, scallion sauce was light but flavourful. We also highly recommend their seafood fried rice (海鮮炒飯) which simply had so many ingredients that compliment each other super well. Great solid delicious fried rice. The restaurant offered tang yuan for free as it was the Chinese Lantern Festival. We topped it with some crispy fresh milk curd paired with sweet rose jam (玫瑰鍋炸), this was also yummy but it’s not a WOW dish, and we loved the rose jam so much. One small negative point I experienced was a very slow drinks service. I had to wait for 15 minutes for a simple soda mocktail, and another 15 minutes for the straw. The staff apologised about this and reasoned that they ran out of straws. Parking is available at the hotel premise at quite a hefty price. But you can also park at the commerical building carpark just next door at a much lower price. Overall the experience was great, service was fine and met the expectations, prices were on the higher end but a worthy meal. we booked the hotel through klook with the upgrade the n2 room . the check in experience was very nice , we do not have to wait for the check in and the reception guided us to our room as well . she also showed us where our kid can play inside the hotel with all sort of facilities. there was a mini playhouse , slime time experience and game room on the second floor where children could play there during the stay. we also got a mini kit with puzzles and colour book which was just fit to our 3-year old kid. for dinner our reservations already included a 3 course set dinner . we ordered a tuna and lobster bisque as appetisers, beef short ribs to be shared for two and the lemon tart and chocolate cake as dessert . for the kid we also ordered the macaroni and cheese with sweet potato fries and an orange juice ( total $201 upon Chek out ) . all the food was nice and actually we were all full despite it looks like not a lot of food ! one of the reason we chose this hotel was that we can have bubble bath in the bath tub . the hotel also provide bath salt so we could enjoy a nice evening in our room ! the next morning breakfast was a semi buffet breakfast in UG level. there were variety of pastries which all of them are nice ! my child also liked the donuts there ! it’s special that they also serve chia seed pudding in buffet breakfast and there were lots of fruits choices! we also got a tea set to take away home . the service here was excellent that we would definitely recommended to our friends with kids as well as furry friends ! #foodie #staycation #香港好去處 #birthday #celebration #bathtub #bubblebath #buffetbreakfast #november
