The elevator "swooshed" and took us to the observation deck, with the whole Kuala Lumpur in sight. At noon, I turned to the nearby and tasted Malaysian curry chicken and coconut milk rice, and the taste buds took off directly! In the afternoon, I went shopping in the Bayan Shopping Center, and the breath of history in the National Museum came to my face. After dinner, I took a night tour of the Kuala Lumpur River, with brilliant lights on both sides, which was beautiful. On the second day, we first visited Independence Square and the monument to understand the historical context of Malaysia. Lunch continued to explore local delicacies, and every bite was a surprise! In the afternoon, I challenged the high-altitude walk of the Kuala Lumpur Tower, and in the evening, I went deep into the nightlife area to experience different enthusiasm. This museum takes me back to the past. From ancient humans and their evolutions, to the political movements in modern life. There are so many things i can learn from this museum. The story about The states, The Sultan, The people, The Land, and so many other things. There are so many things we can learn from History, and this Museum gives us so much information about the things we wanted to know in the past. Describing them in words and dioramas. #hiddengems I am staying in Kuala Lumpur for the past 26 years and finally this is my first time visiting national museum here in the city centre. I would say this is all worth while to spend a couple hours of time into the city during weekend just to get to understand and learn more about the origin of Malaysia. The entrance is free of charge as it is open to public, the only part needed to pay for is parking lot if you are driving to this place. Of course, this place is also accessible through public transport – MRT.

Right in the centre of the city and easily accessible from most tourist areas such as the Petronas Towers, Bukit Bintang and Pavilion Shopping Mall is The National Museum of Malaysia. This museum - also called Muzium Negara - focuses solely on the history of the Malay Peninsula and the Malay people from prehistoric times until now. It is really interesting to see the dioramas and maps of how the land was formed and how Bronze Age people lived on this peninsula. Moving into to the modern age, there are many interesting artefacts covering the colonial period - did you know the Malays had to fight Portuguese, Dutch AND British colonists over time? I particularly loved examining the intricacy of the many sculptures, and the finely woven colorful textiles made for especially for nobility. A fairly small museum but with many varied and well chosen exhibits, this is a great way to spend an hour getting to learn about Malaysia’s local culture.
