After seeing countless glowing reviews and vlogs about The Note Coffee, we decided to drop by and see what the buzz was all about. Tucked away in the heart of the Old Quarter and right beside Hoàn Kiếm Lake, this charming little café offers more than just coffee — it’s a feel-good experience. We visited in the late morning and were lucky to grab a top-floor window seat, which offered beautiful views of the lake and the streets below. Be aware though — the café is not air-conditioned, so it can get quite warm, especially midday. That said, the warm atmosphere also seemed to keep the table turnover relatively quick. I ordered a freshly baked croissant, which came warm and crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside — exactly how it should be. Of course, I couldn’t leave without trying their egg coffee, a Vietnamese must-have. It was smooth, sweet, and velvety — a delightful take on the local classic. What sets this café apart is its signature concept: walls covered in colorful sticky notes, handwritten by visitors from around the world. An 8-hour Layover in the Streets of Hanoi! In Viet Nam, splurging cash is easy. Here, travelling is worth your time and wallet. Cashing out around 3,000,000 dong may be enough for 2 heads in the brief layover. Before heading out, we had carryon luggages which we stored at the airport for about 100,000 for 12 hours max. We then went to the city proper using Grab app to book a car. First stop on this short trip? THE NOTE COFFEE! Who wouldn't love to sip their early coffee with some pens and papers. Funny how it is easy and hard to write something on a small piece of paper after reading some of the posts from the heart of people who went their way here. You can write, doodle, and just stick a paper anywhere (besides the fan of course). After our morning coffee, we went to try the egg tarts and cheese balls at KFC! REALLY GOOD. OH MANILA WHEN WILL YOU EVER? 😭 Walking some more to take picture of the Hoan Kiem Lake and the The Huc Bridge. It was a really peaceful morning. Some families were even fishing around the lake just to let the fish go again. Next agenda? PHO FOR LUNCH! It wasn't the first time for me but the first time for my friend. She's a food lover and she wanted to take away about three bags of pho on our way to Thailand 🤣 That's how much she loved it! And for our last mission! SOUVENIRS!!! Fridge magnets were the bomb with it's artistic takes on the design and cost (really cheap for a penny pincher like me!). My friend bought some tea to bring home (which I questioned because it should be coffee???). It is a three floor building with plenty of seating. I highly recommend checking this place out in Hanoi. There are several cafes and shops in the vicinity too. Do check it out.

So many post-it notes all over the walls, chairs, lights, everywhere. People have written some of the funniest quotes and verses I’ve seen. If you’re close by then drop it, it’s a fun place to be. This is a very trendy place. Quite well known and recommeded by hostels. I had to try the egg coffee while i was in hanoi and people said this would be a good place to start. It seemed to be famous among tourists. There are 4 storeys in this narrow building. With sticker notes posted on the wall. Its kind of fun reading messages from people all around the world. There are lots of seating available. We had cappuccino, hazelnut coffee and the famous egg coffee among the three of us. Surprisingly, Egg coffee was good. It was quite creamy and you don’t get the taste of egg while drinking it. It must be in small amount just for the thickness. #vietnamtrip

These notes create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, offering a unique and personal touch to the café experience. We order hot egg coffee and ice coconut coffee which is their signature drink. Delightfully chaotic, it can be difficult to maneuver around the cafe's three levels with narrow staircases and cramped quarters. But that's also part of the charm. If you make it to a window seat you'll enjoy awsome views with your coffee. Otherwise you'll have plenty to read, and might even stumble on an inspiring nugget or two that changes your life...

#winhkflight Colourful sticky notes covered the walls, tables, chairs, and everything in between, creating a scene that makes you feel like you’re in Alice in Wonderland, or something of the sort. From the old quarter, it’s about a 20 minute walk towards the river, and it’s right opposite Quang Truong Dong on Luong Van Can Road. It’s a small entrance and not too obvious to find from the outside, it simply looks like a normal little coffee shop which Hanoi is scattered with. However when you walk inside you’ll be hit with the wow factor. There are 4 storeys with different views! The Note Coffee is not only known for its unique and unplanned decor, it also serves some of the best coffee in Hanoi. I strongly recommend the Coconut Iced Latte! I would love to travel to Hong Kong to try local coffee and special coffee shops!
