🚗 It takes about two and a half hours to drive from Shanghai to Shaoxing. I left in the morning and went there directly for lunch. 🏨 We stayed at Shaoxing Hotel, a garden-style hotel where you can stroll around. The room decoration is quite unique, but I feel the breakfast is average. day1 There are too many people in the Lu Xun hometown scenic area, haha, but the queue is quite fast. Lanting in Shaoxing is the garden residence of Wang Xizhi, a calligrapher from the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The famous "Lanting Preface" came from here. Lanting is not only a holy place for calligraphy lovers, but also an excellent place for study. In the Goose Pond, the clear water makes me feel good watching the geese swimming freely. On the Lanting Stele, Lanting was written by Emperor Kangxi. It is a pity that both the words "Lanting" are missing. At Liushang Pavilion, you can look at the zigzag winding water and sit on the stone slab pretending to wait for the wine glass to come. In the Wang Youjun Temple, there are imitation works by calligraphers of all dynasties in the left and right corridors, and the Mohua Pavilion in the middle is very distinctive. It is quite shocking to appreciate the calligraphy works of various calligraphers in the vast space in the Lanting Stele Forest.
