Restaurant: SKYE Roofbar and Dining
Address: 27/F, The Park Lane Hotel, 310 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay
Food: Four-course semi-buffet brunch, $720 per person
You can enjoy hot appetizers, cold appetizers, a main course and dessert. The waiter first served five hot appetizers, which could be added if needed. The top row from left to right were:
Mushroom soup: It is very hot, very stomach-warming, and has a rich flavor. You can enjoy every bite of mushroom puree.
Pork belly in clear soup: very fragrant and tender.
Ham and meatballs, BBQ sauce: The texture is like Gillette, the inside is like minced meatballs, and the sauce elevates the flavor.
Tiger Prawn Cheese Handmade Pasta: Thick and rich cheese, with refreshing tiger prawn meat inside, and the pasta is soft and chewy.
Black Truffle Cream French Sandwich: The bread is baked to become crispy, filled with cream filling, and exudes the aroma of black truffle.
At the same time, I took some frozen dishes and placed the small containers on the plates. From right to left, they are:
Duck Breast Ham, Orange: The smoky and chewy duck breast and the sweet orange flesh are a perfect match.
Tomato Burrata: It is a tomato salad, refreshing and appetizing.
Mango Crab Meat: Filled with crab meat with a nice texture, fresh and tasty, paired with sweet mango, it stimulates the taste buds.
The jade-colored Truffle Chicken Terrine in the middle of the plate is a French cold soup made of tender chicken and fragrant mushrooms. The rest are salty and fragrant smoked salmon and cold cut meats.
The frozen appetizer also includes fresh and plump oysters.
For the main course, we ordered the following two dishes, both of which were beautifully presented, like a work of art.
Roasted New Zealand Lamb Rack
It has an attractive appearance, pink flesh, and a strong but not rich flavor. The composition is perfect with carrots and tender spinach.
200-day grain-fed beef sirloin (additional $50)
The sirloin is fried until cooked through, the meat is rich in flavor and the gravy is locked in. The side dishes include pearl onions and carrots, which add color, and the sweet red wine sauce goes well with the red meat.
Finally, it’s time to taste all kinds of desserts. Just looking at the dessert bar is enough to satisfy you.
The first dessert, from left to right:
Yuzu Cream Brulee: It’s a bit like caramel custard, smooth and has a light grapefruit flavor to refresh your taste buds.
Yogurt Cake, Chocolate Cream & Warm Chocolate Sauce: The chocolate dessert is served in a small plastic cup and covered with a piece of chocolate. The craftsmanship is very delicate.
Mascarpone Raspberry Cake: It’s a bit like traditional cream cake, but with sweet and sour raspberries on top.
Mango Passion Fruit Terrine: The charming aroma of mango and passion fruit, coupled with the texture of pudding, is so delicious that you can’t stop eating it.
Then take the second plate of dessert.
Chocolate Cake (far left): It has a firm texture and a strong flavor.
Tonka Bean Egg Tart (bottom center): Tonka Bean is a tonka bean, and the egg batter in the egg tart is smooth and crispy.
Paris Brest (middle top): The texture is a bit like profiteroles, and the filling has a chestnut flavor.
Strawberry Sable (top right): Moderately sweet and has a charming aroma.
Hazzelnut Chocolate Cake (bottom right): The rich chocolate flavor and chopped nuts make the texture and taste more layered.
The small plate on the right is filled with Mixed Berries Mousse, which has an attractive and sweet mixed berry flavor. The glass container is filled with mixed fruit pieces, which is hygienic and clean. In addition, each person received a scoop of cranberry sorbet, which was sweet and refreshing.
Environment: Located on the 27th floor, the top floor of the hotel, the decoration is very stylish, and the extra-high ceiling and wide glass windows make the room full of light. You can overlook the beautiful scenery of Victoria Park and Victoria Harbour. The view is open, but it was a pity that it was humid and foggy when I visited.
Service: Attentive and polite.
