A romantic Valentine's Day market in a century-old colonial building】💘 ✨A nostalgic journey through time✨ The Secretariat, hidden in the heart of Yangon, is Myanmar's most legendary historical landmark! This red-brick building was once the "Governor's House" during the British colonial period, with its weathered arches and spiral staircases holding the tragic story of General Aung San's assassination. After its restoration in 2022, it has become a secret base for art lovers 🎨 Every photo taken here looks like a scene from a vintage movie! The design and budget of the Secretariat were proposed by Henry Hoyne-Fox, the executive engineer of the Yangon Division. The contractor was Naitram Rambux, a famous architect from northern India. The U-shaped Secretariat covers about 16 acres in southern Yangon. The main structure is a huge U-shaped building with a long central block and two wings. The council chamber was added to the north of the courtyard. The central block, located on the south side of Dalhousie Road, was originally built in 1889 and completed in 1893. It cost 1 million rupees. The east wing faces Judah Ezekiel Road, and the west wing faces Sparks Road. They were built in 1903 and completed in 1905. Each wing cost 750,000 pounds. The entire process cost 2.5 million rupees. There are many unique restaurants and cafes inside. I saw an art exhibition and went in to find the artist creating on-site, accompanied by a live guitarist. This place is full of stories and history. The entrance fee is 1,000 MMK. Recently, there is a Valentine's Day market from February 14 to 16, 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The entrance fee is 15,000 MMK per person.
