The Skyline Ferry is the first choice for travelers to visit Victoria Harbour. It currently has two routes, from Central and Wanchai to Tsim Sha Tsui. The journey takes about 8 minutes and the one-way fare is only about $5. That day I left Wanchai, took the ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui, and then returned to Central from Tsim Sha Tsui. The Star Ferry is a must ride if you're in HK. It used to be one the few options to cross the harbor before the cross harbor tunnels were built. It is still the cheapest way to get from HK to Kowloon and vice versa. It is much slower than the MTR or bus, but it's much more scenic and fun! So do try it out if you have time. The Star Ferry takes passengers across Victoria Harbour, between Hong Kong Island, and Kowloon. The ferry is very affordable, and comfortable to ride and it takes you around 8 minutes to reach the other side. We made use of the ferry with our four month old and 5 year old and it was definitely child and stroller friendly. The nights views on the ferry were amazing. It is truly an amazing and relaxing experience and many photos can be taken. Cheap, nice, good is a Cantonese saying that literally means good value for money. This could not be more true for the Star Ferry in Hong Kong; the cheapest way to cross the harbor to/from Central or Wan Chai to Tsim Sha Tsui. For less than HKD3.5 you get to cross the world famous Victoria Harbor and are rewarded with stunning views of the cityscape. It's much slower than the MTR but it is a much more scenic and cheap to move about. Additionally it is a very historic experience as it's the oldest way to get across the Harbor. The lower deck is slightly cheaper but the upper deck is already inexpensive. There's air con on the upper deck in summer though. All in all, an experience not to miss!

I took the Star Ferry from Kowloon to Wan Chai and checked in at Central. The Star Ferry's facilities have a vintage feel. Along with Hong Kong trams and the Peak Tram, it's a mode of transport with over a century of history. Its reversible seatbacks are a nice touch. I took a tram to Kennedy Town. The tram swayed and sighed as it moved, reminding me of old green trains. In the afternoon, I took the subway to Causeway Bay to find food. At a roast goose restaurant, I ordered a roast goose and char siu platter, two bowls of rice, lemon honey water for myself, and a cold drink for the student. I hadn't had such a purely meat-based meal in a while, haha! However, the roast goose was special, fatty but not greasy, and incredibly fragrant. After eating, we chatted for a bit. He had class in the afternoon, so he took me to the overpass before heading back to school. I felt like I had accomplished everything I wanted to see and learn, and it seemed like I could return home today. I initially thought Hong Kong would be a big challenge, but now I realize, once you're immersed in it, it's not so daunting! The sun came out, and it was warm. I sat by the sea, with the Convention Centre to my left and the Star Ferry's Wan Chai pier to my right. It was very relaxing.
