This is the first autonomous county for ethnic minorities in the country named by Premier Zhou Enlai, and the first region to implement ethnic regional autonomy after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It takes only 39 minutes to reach Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport by taking the intercity train starting with 'C' from Tianzhu West Station, which is a few minutes faster than taking the train from Lanzhou West Station. The Temple of Heaven was built in the Tang Xianzong period in 806 AD. It lasted for more than 1,000 years. During the period, it was destroyed several times and repaired and rebuilt several times. When it was the largest, it occupied more than 1,500 acres. At the peak of the monks, there were more than 800 monks, and they were known as the eight hundred paradise of heaven. They were famous in Tibetan areas with strict precepts, high generations, and grand scale. Temple of Heaven is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Tianzhu and the first of Tianzhu Fourteen Temples. In the temple, the famous Thousand Buddha Hall (the founder of the Tibetan Buddhism Gelug Sect of Tsongkhapa) has 5 floors and 33 meters high. The main Buddha in the temple is 23 meters high. It is the gilded wood carving statue of the Tsongkhapa master. It is still the first and the best in Asia. Also known as the Thousand Buddha Hall, there are more than 4,000 statues of Buddha, of which 1,000 are the Buddha statues of Tsongkhapa.
