There are many kimono rental shops on the most prosperous street of Togetsukyo Bridge. The shops are separated by men and women. Each of you chooses the kimono style you like and puts it on. The clerk will help you put it on, and then help you to put your hair up and choose a headdress. (Because I am not very good at it, I asked the clerk to put it on casually. 🙈) When everything is ready, you can gather the men to stroll around the romantic Togetsukyo Bridge. Wearing a kimono, you need to change your usual free and unrestrained steps into ladylike small steps. 🙈, it was a little uncomfortable at first, but walking in small steps allows you to enjoy the scenery for a longer time. Fortunately, there were still beautiful cherry trees when we came 🌸. 🌟🌟 After strolling across the Togetsukyo Bridge, you can also walk to the famous "Arashiyama Bamboo Forest". The bamboo forest is densely packed with towering bamboos, as if out of the real world, making people feel relaxed and happy.💚 Although there were many tourists and it was difficult to take a photo of myself with the bamboo forest, this beautiful scenery remained in my mind and could not be forgotten. The towering green stalks created an almost otherworldly atmosphere as I strolled through the winding paths. The gentle rustling of the bamboo in the wind added to the tranquil experience. Near the forest, I also visited the famous Togetsukyo Bridge, offering picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and river. Discovering Kyoto’s Historic District: Gion A visit to Kyoto wouldn’t be complete without exploring Gion, the city’s famous geisha district. The beautifully preserved wooden buildings, traditional tea houses, and narrow alleyways transported me back in time. Walking through these gates was a surreal experience, surrounded by lush greenery and the peaceful ambiance of the shrine. While the full hike to the top takes a couple of hours, even a short walk along the lower sections provides incredible photo opportunities and a deep sense of serenity. A Half-day Trip to Uji City Located just south of Kyoto, Uji is a charming city renowned for its high-quality green tea and stunning historical sites. The serene Uji River added to the city’s charm, offering beautiful walking paths and picturesque views. I also took the opportunity to enjoy a traditional matcha experience at one of Uji’s many tea houses, savoring the rich flavors of authentic Japanese green tea. Tips for an Enjoyable Kyoto Experience Visit popular sites early – Kyoto’s attractions can get crowded, so visiting early in the morning allows for a more peaceful experience. Wear comfortable shoes – Many sites require a fair amount of walking, so comfortable footwear is a must. Try local cuisine – Don’t miss out on Kyoto’s specialties such as matcha sweets, yudofu (tofu hot pot), and kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal). It is said that the sunset over the Kamo River is beautiful, but this time I also saw a moving sunset in Arashiyama. The mountains overlap, smoke rises from the small town, clear water flows, and you can see cute Shiba Inu and relaxed people. I also managed to take a picture of a classic Japanese train crossing the road. After watching the sunset, I took a bus to Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi from the bus stop at nearby Arashiyama Park, slowly returned to the city, and ate ramen, which made me really happy. #Arashiyama #JapanTrip #CharmOfKyoto

I was 20 years old when I first visited Arashiyama. During the cherry blossom season, in the rain, I met a Japanese woman wearing a pale purple kimono and a deep purple haori at Togetsukyo Bridge. She had her hair tied up, and her hair was swaying in the wind blowing over the river. The word "Togetsu" felt like a subtitle announcing her arrival. I pressed the shutter, but it was out of focus and she became a vague presence in the photo. It was as if I had cut out a part of a dream. If I were a man, such a long-held memory might have been romantic. However, since I am not a man, this memory may not be special. Every time I visit Kyoto, I visit Arashiyama, and in the past few years, the number of kimono rental shops has increased and it is crowded with tourists. I took a day trip to Arashiyama and arrived at the boat dock in the afternoon. Since I had come all the way there, I decided to try a boat ride on Togetsukyo Bridge. Some people on the internet say that you don't need to go to Togetsukyo Bridge, but I really liked it!
