Tokachigawa Hot Spring is a hot spring area located in Hokkaido County, Hokkaido. Unlike the hot spring area commonly seen in Japan due to volcanic geothermal heat, Tokachigawa Hot Spring is heated by the thermal energy released by ancient plants after years of accumulation to form lignite. A botanical brown charcoal hot spring known as the "Fountain of Beauty". There are Tokachi Hill Park and Tokachi Ecological Park around the hot spring area. Every year from early November to mid-April, many swans fly here from Siberia on the banks of the Tokachi River to spend the winter. In addition to swans, water birds such as mallards also rest their wings here. They are accustomed to people, watching them up close. From the end of January to the end of February, the Tokachi River Swan Festival "Sarinhua" is held every day from 19:00 to 21:00 in conjunction with the time when swans are flying. At Tokachi-no-Oka Park, a fantasy show of light and music is held, as well as activities such as snowboarding and making snow candles.
