[2025 Shizuoka Attraction] Travel Guide for Toro Park (Updated Mar)

The park is home to the Toro Ruins and the Toro Ruins Museum. The park is open 24 hours a day, but you cannot enter the ruins' buildings at night. The Toro Ruins Museum is generally closed on Mondays. If you take a bus from Shizuoka Station, it is a 5-minute walk from the Ishiida Street Line's Ruins Entrance Bus Stop. If you are going to the ruins, the final stop is the Ruins Bus Stop, which is right in front of the site.

#thingstodo Many of you may not know that the famous ruins are free parks and you can freely enter and exit the inside of the restored ruins. There were many families, and I was able to spend a very relaxing time in the restored paddy fields, such as a plot of rice that was probably planted mainly by neighboring kindergartens and elementary schools. The ruins themselves are not so big, but it was very impressive that the children enjoyed going in and out of the residence and looking at the paddy fields. Above all, I think it's a very good park where you can learn history without spending money and get in touch with nature such as rice that is actually planted.

#2024wish I found this archaeological site and museum fascinating! The history of how it was discovered and of the village itself is interesting and the museum and recreated ruins tell a great story. The first floor and outdoor exhibit are free and include plenty of hands-on activities to immerse you in the Toro Village. The second floor and Fuji viewing platform have a small fee but the artifacts and the presentation of the information are well designed and informative if you are interested in learning. Bonus: they have free English audio-guide devices for both the second floor of the museum and the outdoor exhibit so even foreign travelers can learn! I really appreciated this feature. In 2024, I want to visit this place.
