Access: Less than 15 minutes by bus from Toyama Station Toyama City is basically a car or bus, so it's in a good location. Tourist spots: It's one of the top tourist spots in Toyama City, so you'll regret it if you don't go. This is a work by Kengo Kuma, a famous architect who is famous for sake. It makes use of glass and is very beautiful with the sparkling light from outside. It is a famous building that was designed and built with consideration for the light of Toyama, the angle of the building, and every detail. You can see all the way to the ceiling from inside the building. It looks like it's made of wood. It has an image of stairs and escalators going up and down the stairs. It has a very open feeling, and the building itself is a work of art. Please go and see it. When I went there, I happened to catch two exhibitions, and the ticket was only 200 yen (about 9 RMB), which was a great value! Moreover, even if you don't buy a ticket, you can freely visit the building itself and each floor. The Glass Art Museum in Toyama is definitely worth a visit, and the surrounding food is also mouth-watering. Toyama can be regarded as a city full of artistic atmosphere. Not only can you visit art galleries and museums, but you can also experience various things, such as glass blowing, tinware making, ink painting experience, and samurai experience. To the west is the famous Kanazawa, to the west is Niigata, and to the south is Takayama, all of which are places worth visiting.

The best one is the Chihuly exhibit at the top floor, containing colorful and mesmerizing installations, the rest of the floors display various local and offshore artists art works. The museum has a vast library spending on a couple of the middle floors, restrooms and small resting area. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance floor, the queue is not long.

If you live near Toyama Station, it is recommended to take the Toyama City Tram (very frequent) to get there. After getting off at Nishimachi Station, you can see the Glass Art Museum. The exterior is a little disappointing at first, as it doesn't have such a big impact, but when you walk inside (above the 2nd floor), you will find that it is really beautiful. A lot of wood, mirrors and white walls match each other, and the sunlight pouring in from the skylight of the building makes people feel very comfortable and it is also very good for taking pictures. Toyama City in the Hokuriku region was my home for over two years. I finally had a chance to visit it again, this time with friends. I took them to one of the cities greatest attractions which is the Toyama Glass Art Museum. It is perfectly located right in front of a tram station and not too far from Toyama Castle. The museum does not only hold exhibits from famous artists all over the world, but also has an extensive collection of books in different languages and its own library. If you ever find yourself visiting the Hokuriku region, I can’t recommend this place enough.
