Traveling without a car and with a mother who has foot pain. If this is your first time visiting Osaka or you plan to travel alone, I believe this post will be very useful for you. ———————————————————————————— I recommend buying the 'New Osaka Amazing Pass' online in advance, as it allows unlimited rides on the subway within Osaka for 2 days and access to 40 attractions, including several free boat rides. (Note: This is different from the Osaka Enjoy Eco Card). Also, consider getting an ICOCA card for convenient payments. [Available at subway vending machines] Day 1 (Arriving in Osaka at 10 AM due to an overnight flight) [Using the Amazing Pass, all attractions below are free] Arrive at Kansai Airport in the morning, take a train to the hotel to store luggage, and then have breakfast. In the afternoon, visit Osaka Castle (the Nishinomaru Garden offers great photo opportunities of the castle, free entry with the Amazing Pass), explore the KAIYODO Figure Museum, have lunch at the nearby mall, then visit the Osaka Castle Museum. Before 4:30 PM, take the last Nakanoshima sightseeing boat. In the evening, take the subway to Osaka Port Station to ride the Tempozan Ferris Wheel and visit the Osaka Aquarium (you can also visit the Sakishima Cosmo Tower Observatory on the way). Have dinner and then return to the hotel to check in and rest. First, I stopped at an old shop specializing in kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) and tasted freshly fried skewers. The crispy and juicy bite brought a sense of satisfaction. Then, I lingered in a nostalgic toy store, where the display of classic toys and collectibles brought back childhood memories. After lunch, I reached the end of the shopping street and ascended Tsutenkaku Tower to overlook the entire city. The sunset dyed the streets a warm orange, and the neon lights of the shopping street gradually lit up, creating a lively night market atmosphere that was hard to leave. Day 2 On the second day, I strolled through Tsutenkaku Hondori Shopping Street again, but this time I chose to explore the other side of the street. The shopping street was particularly quiet in the early morning, with sunlight casting a unique charm on the wooden signs of the shops. I visited a long-established wagashi (Japanese sweets) shop and bought some traditional sweets as souvenirs. Then, I entered an antique bookstore, flipping through the yellowed books on the shelves and feeling the passage of time. Lunch was settled at a restaurant specializing in okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancakes), where I watched the owner skillfully flip the ingredients on the griddle, the aroma was enticing, and the taste was exceptional. 🚇Transportation: Osaka is basically expensive for taxis, and since the subway system is well-equipped, it is better to use the subway in many ways. In my case, I got off at Dobutsuenmae Station and walked to the Tsutenkaku Observatory. It was a bonus to have the fun of exploring fancy restaurants and delicious food here and there. 🗼Places to visit: Osaka has many famous observatories, and Tsutenkaku is one of them. As an Osaka landmark, if you go up, you can see the whole Osaka city at a glance. However, since I think all towers are prettier from the outside, I skipped the inside of the observatory. Tsutenkaku means a tall building that connects to the sky, and inside the observatory, there is Billiken, which is said to grant wishes, a pretty shop, and a popular spot called the slide, so be sure to stop by and enjoy the Osaka atmosphere to the fullest. 🔑Tip: I recommend getting off at the station, passing through Shinsekai Hondori Shopping Street, and going to Tsutenkaku. If you have an afternoon free, I’d definitely recommend visiting the small area in Osaka. Not only were the buildings and architecture amazing at night, but you can settle with some great sushi and Sake. After we filled ourselves at the sushi restaurant, which fresh sushi is made in front of you, we settled on deckchairs and drunk some Japanese wine.
