A Visit to UN Memorial Cemetery In Busan
South Korea has tragic memories with Korean war that started on 25 Jun 1950 and lasted about three years, all bloody and catastrophic. South Korean soldiers alongwith those from over a dozen countries as part of UN force fought galantly against the invading North Korean army. In what ultimately would be known as the Busan Perimeter UN forces organized a defence line around Busan to prevent its fall. In doing this, many soldiers fell. In order to commemorate their sacrifice, a UN administered memorial cemetery was constructed where visitors come and pay their homage. I visited the place in July this year and offered my respect.
