Maisan Provincial Parkin Jeollabuk Provinc
South Korea has plenty of exciting places to offer spread across the length and breadth of the country. A mix of both natural and artificial attractions diversify the go-to list for travel-loving visitors. I have been to many good places here in Korea during my stay. Yet there are still many missing dots left to be connected. Last weekend I visited Maisan Provinicial Park with family. The place is a lovely spot which has everything to offer for a day-long trip. The place is famous for stone towers which have been erected (not constructed with cement or any modern sonstruction aid) more than 100 years ago and are still standing. Also there is a Budhist temple here where people come and pay their respect.

Foreign feeling with light hiking! Jinan Maisan Topsa⛰️
Jinan Maisan Topsa
🚩130 Maisan-ro, Mareung-myeon, Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do
✔️Maisan Topsa is at the beginning of the hike, so it's easy to get there
✔️The stone towers that look like they're from overseas (Chiang Mai) are spectacular
After a meal with my family, I went for a light walk to Maisan Topsa⛰️👨👩👦👦
They say that Maisan is not only a great topsa at the beginning, but also a beautiful mountain, so I'll have to go climbing it together next time💪

Nine Peaks, One Chill Adventure
#summervacay Headed out to Gubongsan, and wow, what a cool little hike. The name literally means “Nine Peaks,” and yep, they weren’t lying. The trail kind of rolls along the ridge, hopping from one peak to the next like a fun little mountain obstacle course.
It’s not a super intense hike, but it does get your heart going in a few spots. There are some steep stairs and rocky bits, but nothing too wild. The views are the real highlight here, especially that wide-angle look at Maisan in the distance. Absolute stunner.
There were a few locals on the trail, super friendly as always, and the whole place had this peaceful, uncrowded vibe. I brought some snacks and just posted up on one of the peaks for a bit, best kind of rest stop.
Honestly, Gubongsan feels like a hidden gem. If you're in Jeollabuk-do and want a hike that’s fun, scenic, and not too much of a leg killer, this one’s a solid pick.

Lazy Strolls and Duck Drama at Jucheon Ecological Park
#summervacay Jucheon Ecological Park is one of those spots where you can just vibe and not do much, perfect for when you wanna be outside but not, like, hiking-a-mountain outside. It’s all flat trails, boardwalks over the water, and wide open skies. Great place to bring your iced coffee and just wander.
The park follows the Jucheon stream, and it’s loaded with reeds, wildflowers, and a ton of birds. Like, ducks everywhere. You’ll see them chilling, arguing, and occasionally full-on sprinting across the water like they’re late for work. There's even a little observatory tower if you're feeling slightly adventurous, but the whole vibe is very no-pressure.
Benches are everywhere too, ideal for people-watching or bird-spying. It’s super peaceful, and you don’t need to dress like you’re heading into the wilderness. Just show up and walk. Or sit. Or eat some convenience store snacks by the water. Zero expectations, 10/10 peaceful energy. Definitely a weekend slow-down kind of place.

Sky Feels and Ridge Strolls
#summervacay Unjangsan seriously surprised me, in the best way. I didn’t know much going in, just that it’s tucked in the Jeolla region and not super famous, but wow. The trail starts off pretty mellow with shady forest vibes, birds chirping, and that peaceful, clean air you only get deep in the mountains.
Then you hit the ridge and everything just opens up. Rolling green hills, mountains stretching out forever, and if you're lucky, a sea of clouds below you. It’s one of those spots where you just wanna stop, take a deep breath, and do absolutely nothing for a while.
The hike’s not super intense, but it does have a few spots that'll get your legs working. Totally manageable though, even if you’re just out for a relaxed adventure. There are wooden decks and view points scattered along the way, perfect for snack breaks and selfies.
If you're craving peaceful trails, wide open skies, and major nature vibes, Unjangsan hits all the right notes.

Peaks for Days
#summervacay Jinan’s Gubongsan is one of those spots that kinda sneaks up on you with how awesome it is. I wasn’t expecting much, just figured I’d check out another random mountain, but dang, this place was cool. The name literally means “nine peaks,” and yep, you get hit with a bunch of those sharp, rocky ridges that look straight out of an old painting.
The trail is pretty friendly, nothing too hardcore, and the views come in fast. Like, you don’t have to wait hours to get that “wow” moment. The higher you go, the more those funky-shaped peaks pop out around you. It’s super photogenic, especially when the light hits just right.
Also, not super crowded! I had stretches of the trail all to myself, just walking and soaking up the mountain vibes. You can even spot Maisan off in the distance if the weather’s clear.
If you’re down for a scenic, laid-back hike with some seriously artsy views, Gubongsan’s a hidden gem worth the detour.

A Randomly Awesome Day at Maisan
#summervacay Maisan is straight-up wild in the best way. Like, imagine two giant horse ears popping out of the earth (yep, that’s what “Maisan” means), and then toss in some surreal temples and peaceful trails, you’ve got this underrated gem in Korea.
The hike isn’t crazy tough, so it's perfect if you’re feeling lazy-but-still-wanna-do-something-outdoorsy. The trails wind through forests and around these massive stone peaks that honestly look like something out of a fantasy movie. And then you get to Tapsa Temple, which is full of hand-stacked stone pagodas that somehow don’t fall over. It’s weird, kinda magical, and super cool to just wander around.
Also: major peaceful energy. Not packed with tourists, lots of spots to just sit and vibe. Bring a snack, maybe a friend, and definitely your camera, this place is low-key photogenic AF.
10/10 for the random adventure factor. Would totally go back for the good energy and those wild horse-ear mountains.

It was so
It was so nice to go to Jinan with my parents
The hiking course was not bad and Okjeongho was worth seeing
I went in early spring and didn't see many flowers
But if it was around mid-April, it would have been a really beautiful place
I think
It's a good course for families or couples

Maisan Cafe, an elementary school that is great for taking certification shots🧡
#DomesticTravel #JinanTravel #JinanCafe
If you go to Jinan, Jeollabuk-do, you must visit this cafe. It is said that it is only open on weekends these days because it is on the outskirts. It is a place that uses the entire closed school as a cafe, and you can run around in the school hallway, read books in the classroom, and sit at the desk. 😉
There are so many fun spaces, so it is a good place for a family trip. It is a great place for adults to have a cup of coffee while taking a trip down memory lane! I recommend it as a Jinan cafe🧡

I ran around the playground and the classroom hallway
It was such a fun cafe tour to remember my elementary school days, which were so long ago that I can barely remember them. It was a place that used a closed school as a cafe building, so there were a lot of different spaces, and it was so fun to name the classrooms like Coffee Class 1! A great place to take a trip down memory lane🧡

If you are traveling to Jinan, you must visit here
It is not open on weekdays and only open on weekends, so you must check and visit
Tag, Rubber Band, Piling 😉
There is a song like this.
Elementary school is a magical place that
makes everyone feel like a child again, but this place is a place that has really turned a closed school into a cafe, so it was a place where you can go on a cafe tour with the same feeling as going to school.
I recommend it🧡

#JapanAirlineEvent Unjangsan Hiking - Jeonbuk's Hidden Gem✨
Unjangsan (1,126m) across Jinan and Jangsu in Jeonbuk! It's a high mountain, but the hiking trail is well-maintained, so even beginners can challenge it. In particular, the sea of clouds and autumn foliage seen from the summit are spectacular🍁.
📍 Recommended Hiking Course
✔ Unjangsan Natural Recreation Forest Course (4~5 hours round trip)
A gentle path at the beginning, then a ridge path, so the scenery is artistic✨. When the clouds hang low at the summit, the sea of clouds is a real treat!

#JapanAirlineEvent Maisan Hiking – Icon of Jinan, Jeollabuk-do✨
Maisan with its unique appearance of the sharply pointed Ammai-bong (687m) and Sumai-bong (681m) standing side by side! The path to the summit is relatively gentle, so even beginners can challenge it without difficulty. In particular, the cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn foliage in fall create a fantastic view🍁🌸.
Recommended hiking courses
✔ Tapsa Course (most popular!) – Tapsa➡️Stone Tower Road➡️Ammai-bong➡️Sumai-bong (about 2 hours)
✔ Eunsu-sa Course – Eunsu-sa➡️Northern Maisan➡️Ammai-bong➡️Tapsa (quiet atmosphere✨)
✔ Southern Parking Lot Course – The hiking trail is clean and there are many observatories, so it is recommended for beginners💯
When you reach the summit, you can see the whole of Jinan city at a glance, and the majesty of the rock peak that seems to touch the sky is overwhelming! When you come down, be sure to stop by Maisan Tapsa to feel the mysterious stone tower atmosphere⛰️🙏.

(Real time) Jinan Maisan Tower covered in white snow ❄️🩵
#DomesticTravel
I went to Maisan Tapsa Temple today after hearing that it was covered in beautiful snow, which I couldn't visit last time because I didn't have time.
I've often heard that the snowy scenery of Tapsa Temple is beautiful, but it was really spectacular to see the stone towers piled up one by one with pure white snow.
Maisan Tapsa Temple was even more beautiful because of the heavy snow, and the snowy Maisan Mountain seen from afar was really beautiful. Jinan, when it snows, be sure to visit Jinan as well❄️🩵

(Real time) Jinan Unilam Banilam Swinging Bridge becomes even more beautiful in the fall🍁🤎
#FallTravel
Jeonbuk's fall is just beginning!
Jinan's Unilam Banilam, which shows a splendid view of the suspension bridge even in other seasons, has begun to change color with autumn.
The biggest merit of Unilam Banilam Suspension Bridge is that you can enjoy this wonderful view by walking up for about 10 minutes from the parking lot, and the deck is well-maintained at each section, so even beginner hikers can climb it without difficulty.
Jinan is now beautifully colored with autumn colors everywhere, so it's great to take a good look around.
If there are people who have been waiting for news of pretty autumn leaves, how about going on a fall foliage trip to Jinan this week?🍁🤎

Demisam Natural Recreation Forest
#Special Hotel Accommodation Event
I visited Demi Sam Natural Recreation Forest ㅎㅎ Demi Sam Natural Recreation Forest has prepared a private room for barbecue as shown in the picture! It might be difficult in the very cold winter or summer, but it seems like it would be perfect for barbecue in spring and fall ㅎㅎ Above all, I think the best thing is that it is private!
