On a clear day, you will be able to see the amazing views of North Africa right across the strait of Gibraltar. The area has loads of good scenic spots for phototakings and plenty of parking spaces and interesting facts and stuff to see such as the sikorski memorial where it commemorates the B24 crash back in July 1943.

Grand Casemates Square is the larger of the two main squares within the city centre of Gibraltar, located at the northern end of the Main Street, the square is lined with numerous pubs, bars, and restaurants and acts as a gateway into Gibraltar's city centre for most of the tourists. Tramonti Ristorante Pizza is located within the square, it open daily from 1200-2200, as you stand at the big menu side, attentive staff will quickly approach and arrange the seat for you. I had ordered Panciotti Con Cappesante E Gamberetti ( Fresh pasta filled with Scalops and Prawns in seafood sauce ) and a beer. The beer was served very fast. After 20 minutes of waiting, my pasta was served, it tasted fresh and delicious.

St Michael Cave is a name given to a network of limestone caves, located within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve in Gibraltar, at a height of above 300 meters. The cave was created by rainwater slowly seeping through the limestone rock, turning into a weak carbonic acid which gradually dissolved the rocks, so numerous stalactites and stalagmites in the cave were formed. The largest of the chambers, named the Cathedral Cave, currently serves as an auditorium. It was converted due to the chamber's natural acoustic properties. It is equipped with a concrete stage and has a seating capacity of over 100. The cave is one of Gibraltar's top tourist attractions and is open daily. The cave formations are colourfully lit and visitors can read displays documenting the cave's history.

Europa Point is the southernmost point in Gibraltar. At the end of the Rock of Gibraltar, the area is flat and occupied by such features as a playing field and a few buildings. Harding's Battery is a restored artillery battery in Gibraltar Europa Point, and includes the Europa Sunken Magazine that is now used as a visitor centre. The Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque is a gift from King Faid of Saudi Arabia, located at Europa Point. The Europa Point Lighthouse, with the former keeper's cottage to the left, and the former fog-horn house to the right, built in 1838. On a clear day, visitors can have a view of North Africa, across the strait of Gibraltar including Cetua and the Rif Mountain of Morocco.

At the very end of the continent of Europe Gibraltar is the only place in Europe where you can see monkeys in their natural habitat. They are up in the rock and sometimes are a bit aggressive especially when they see food. Be careful when you visit this place. They are also good pickpockets... #happynewyear

The dimly lit artifacts in the lacquered cabinets, more reminiscent of what an 18th-century Victorian gentleman might have collected in his private study, belie the significance of the objects on display. Most of the objects on display are of great historical value, but what most attracts the visitor's attention is undoubtedly the grandeur and excellent condition of the Arab baths located on the lower floor of the museum. Unfortunately, no photography or video recording is allowed. It’s a world away from the modern museums you might have visited in various cities – may it always remain so. Andalucia Tour Extra ~ Gibraltar “St. Michael’s Caves is a network of caves made of limestone, located on the Rock of Gibraltar. St. Michael’s Cave is located on the so-called Upper Rock. But the visual spectacle really has to be seen to be appreciated. From giant stalagmites and stalactites to real cave openings and almost theater-sized sections, the views that await can be jaw-dropping. On our visit, we only had an hour due to a very busy schedule, but could have easily spent 2-3 hours more as there was so much to see. It didn't distract us. As I suspected, you feel like you are deep inside the earth, especially with the lighting. Very dramatic and memorable. As we planned we took many photos of the experience, but even as a photographer you can never truly capture an experience that is filled with feelings beyond the purely visual. After leaving the caves, we were also lucky enough to see the island’s well-known inhabitants – monkeys. In theory you can't feed them under penalty of a hefty fine (£500), but in practice I didn't notice anyone enforcing the ban. Monkeys love to go through pockets and bags when they smell food, so be careful as they may borrow something. They are not afraid of people and you can touch them, take pictures of them, and even take selfies with the macaques. It is difficult to get to this place, and it is recommended to take a bus as it goes uphill. Tickets are £19 and can be paid in Euros. If you are not prepared to walk, then don’t go…but, the walk is well worth it! The Skywalk is 340 metres above sea level, higher than the highest point of the Shard in London. The Gibraltar Skywalk offers stunning 360-degree views across three countries and two continents, and connects via a series of trails to the Gibraltar Nature Reserve, other attractions within the Upper Rock, including the thrilling Windsor Suspension Bridge and the famous Ape's Nest. Built on an existing WWII base structure, the Skywalk is designed to withstand winds of over 150 km/h and can carry five Asian statues or 340 people at a time (visitor numbers will be limited to 50 at a time). The floor and railing panels consist of 4 layers of laminated glass (total thickness approximately 4.2 cm). The glass observation deck gives you a feeling of floating in the air, which is very exciting. The place is well prepared for tourists and the views are spectacular. If you buy a day ticket you can visit all the sites on the rock which is well worth it. The best route is to start from Main Street and use the Castle Steps. Although the walk to the castle is tiring, it is worth it and the view from the top of the mountain is beautiful. The castle was originally built by the Moors during their occupation of Gibraltar and dates back to the eighth century. It was a strategic fortress guarding the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. The exterior architecture shows both Moorish and Spanish influences. Although its interior has been damaged over the centuries, the castle still stands as a testimony to Gibraltar's rich history. It’s hard to imagine that over 40 kilometres of tunnels were dug by hand through solid rock. You can walk through the tunnels and learn how they were used during the siege. The route is well marked and provides interesting information about this important period in Gibraltar's history. For history buffs, this is an immersive experience. Entrance to the reserve is included in the ticket price. In the tunnel system you can see relics of the great siege of the 18th century (cannons and wax dolls in period costumes, weapons), or part of the tunnels from the Second World War. The different cannon locations and the stories behind them are amazing, and you could easily spend hours exploring the rich history. Gibraltar, a British territory in Spain 🇬🇮 I entered Gibraltar from the city of La Línea de la Concepción in Spain. After passing through immigration, you can see the runway of Gibraltar International Airport and a rock mountain called "The Rock". Gibraltar International Airport has a unique feature that allows you to walk across the runway. It is said to be the only airport in the world where vehicles and pedestrians can cross the runway. I was really excited to have such a rare experience! After walking for about 15 minutes past the runway, you enter the city. Then suddenly, a British town appears in front of you. I have never been to England, but I was so impressed by the cuteness of the townscape that I thought, "I guess this is what England is like. I want to go there someday."😍 As it is a tourist destination, there are many souvenir shops and restaurants. You can use credit cards, but please be aware that some stores only accept cash payments if the item you are purchasing is cheap. The price of the same item varies depending on the store. If you see something you like, compare them 😉 You can pay in either euros or pounds, but paying in pounds is slightly more economical. There are also currency exchange offices and ATMs. Some stores sell not only postcards but also stamps. I wrote an airmail letter to my family in Japan for the first time and dropped it in the post. There are many post boxes throughout the city, and there is a post office on the main street, so it is very easy to send airmail. It was fun to be able to have such an experience. I was able to send airmail to Japan for 1.15 pounds (as of November 2024). Gibraltar is famous for its monkeys, so there were many monkey goods. There is also a Marks & Spencer, although it is not big. If you only go to the main street, it will take about half a day to see everything, but I had a very good time!
