[2025 Kusatsu Stay] Travel Guide for Urakusatsu Tou (Updated May)

This time I went to Kusatsu for two days and one night! The rooms are clean and you can even use the hot springs! I made a reservation three months ago! Meals & Restaurants: ★Dinner: Kusatsu Yubatake Manten I waited in line for about 15 minutes without a reservation! This time I ordered chicken and maitake mushroom kamameshi and xiaolongbao. The kamameshi is one cup, so it's quite filling! At the end, you can pour dashi over it and eat it as ochazuke! ★Lunch on the second day: Joshu Jinko Udon Matsumoto You can't make reservations so I lined up after it opened! The system is that you write your name and when you are called, you can enter. It's okay if you're not there, but if you're not there when they call, it will be treated as a cancellation, so be careful ⚠️ The udon and tempura were delicious! I ate a lot while walking around, including fried chicken, sesame croquettes, grilled skewers, and hot spring manju, and was very satisfied! #100TravelWays The weather in autumn is the most comfortable in early November. If you want to plan a 2-day, 1-night trip, #Karuizawa and #Kusatsu Onsen, which are close to Tokyo, are good choices. It takes about 50 minutes to get to Karuizawa from Ueno, Tokyo by Shinkansen, and then take the system 02 bus next to the station for about an hour to reach the Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal (special reminder: pay attention to the bus departure time). We stayed at #GuoCaoJinDangTOU Ryokan that night. The environment, service and meals were all good and worth recommending. It is really nice to stroll along the streets of Kusatsu Onsen in the cool autumn weather and try some roadside snacks. On the second day, when you return to Karuizawa, you can walk along the small streets near the old station or go shopping at the outlet next to the station, where you can experience the full range of food, shopping and entertainment.

I visited this onsen on my birthday. The hotel is quite new and beautiful. The staff are lovely, smiling, and the service is very fast. My husband and I were very impressed with the dinner here. It is Michelin-level delicious. Everything is delicious. The decoration of the dishes is very delicate. I like it here. Importantly, the onsen in the hotel is a real onsen. My skin is very smooth. And the hotel is only a 2-minute walk from the tourist attractions... It is near the bus station, very convenient. We will definitely stay here again.
