[Toyokawa Inari ⛩ New Year's visit]
2023.1.7
I went to Toyokawa Inari ⛩ for the first visit of the year♪
It was Sunday, so there were a lot of people
There were also food stalls, so it was very lively.
The fortune was Suekichi
"Tree of wish fulfillment"
I hadn't known about it until now...
I happened to see people passing by
It said, "Pass through this tree and visit the inner sanctuary so that your wish will come true,"
So, of course,
everyone passed by‼ ︎
And for lunch, of course, I had inari
I've been here many times, so this time I went to a different restaurant than usual.

[Aichi] Approximately 1,000 stone fox statues?! Toyokawa Inari, one of Japan's three major Inari shrines
#Spring0yenTrip
Toyokawa Inari Shrine is a place where the atmosphere changes instantly and you are enveloped in a solemn atmosphere as soon as you step inside the bustling temple town. As I walked along the main approach, I saw inari sushi and souvenirs lined up in front of the stores, and I felt a little happy even before I visited the shrine. The main hall was large and impressive, and had a unique presence as a temple with the name "Inari". As I went further inside, I saw countless fox statues lined up closely, and I was drawn into a slightly mysterious and mystical space. The sight of the foxes wearing red bibs lined up in a row was overwhelming, and as I walked while looking at each one's face, my feet naturally slowed down. After visiting the shrine, I had a pleasant time wandering around the town while eating inari sushi in front of the temple, and it was a memorable visit.

While Kyoto's Fushimi Inari is famous, this one is equally impressive 🤩❤️
And, to be precise, it's actually a temple, not a shrine!!
It's a place that makes you excited to think about the times when shrines and temples were together in the past 🤩
It is known for bringing prosperity in business, so it's a great place to pray for increased income or business stability ❤️

[Aichi/Toyokawa] A little scary but mysterious. Toyokawa Inari Shrine
Toyokawa Inari is one of the three major Inari shrines in Japan, located in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture. Its official name is Myogon-ji, and it is a Soto Zen temple. It is said to bring many benefits, such as business prosperity, family safety, and academic success, and many worshippers come from all over the country. It is a particularly popular power spot for companies and managers who pray for business prosperity.
The biggest feature of Toyokawa Inari is that it is a temple, not a shrine. However, there are many fox statues enshrined in the grounds, and it has a unique atmosphere where you can see the fusion of Shinto Inari faith and Buddhism. Foxes are said to be messengers of the Inari god and symbolize good harvests and prosperity in business.
In addition to the majestic main hall and beautiful gardens, the grounds also have an area lined with "senbonbori" (thousand flags), which are popular among worshippers, and a "Reikozuka" (Reikozuka) where you can make wishes. Additionally, statues of foxes, famously known as "Okitsunesama," are dotted throughout the shrine, and each time you visit, you'll discover something new, making it one of the shrine's charms.
Toyokawa Inari is about an hour by train from Nagoya, making it convenient for day trips. There are also many historical buildings and gourmet spots in the surrounding area, making it a fun place to combine sightseeing with a visit. Toyokawa Inari is a place that brings blessings to worshippers, as well as peace of mind and new energy.

Zaikaji Temple in Toyokawa City is famous for the Nio statues inside the gate! Apparently it's been designated as a cultural property.
To get there, get off at Kokufu Station on the Nagoya Railroad and take a bus or bicycle.
Photogenic Spot 1
The Nio statues are large and in very good condition.
Their expressions were realistic and amazing.
To get to the main hall, you have to walk up a long flight of stairs and a mountain path. So it's best to wear sneakers.
It's hard to climb the stone stairs, but they're well maintained and very easy to walk on. There are a lot of people around, so it's safe!
Photogenic Spot 2
The flat areas along the way and the view at the end of the climb are also great, so be sure to go!
Recommended!

[Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture] A slightly eerie power spot in Aichi Prefecture😱💓
Introducing Toyokawa Inari, a slightly eerie power spot in Aichi Prefecture. Surrounded by forests and foxes, you can recharge your energy in this mysterious space. The weather was cloudy on this day, but the sun shining through the trees created a mysterious atmosphere. It can be visited regardless of the weather, so it is recommended for the rainy season when the weather is unstable. There is also a legend that you should never touch this fox, so be careful not to touch it. The charm of Aichi. It's not just Nagoya. Meet foxes.
#TravelWithMe
Anyone who comes to Aichi will want to visit Nagoya Castle. The castle itself is of course beautiful. And the indoor exhibition, Honmaru Palace. Wherever you look, it is a glittering and beautiful structure. Above all, you can feel the glow of gold that never fades. It is a place where you can be soothed by the scent of cypress. Shachihoko are displayed everywhere around the castle. Not only golden shachihoko, but also colorful shachihoko and shachihoko painted on the wall of the station.
If you get tired, take a break at a cafe. And you should not only visit Nagoya but also Toyokawa Inari. There are more foxes waiting for you than you can imagine.

[Aichi Prefecture/Utari Shrine] A shrine where you can enjoy searching for rabbits
I heard that there are many hidden rabbits, and since 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, I went there!
A shrine that stands in the middle of a peaceful landscape.
It is an ancient shrine that is said to have been founded in the late 7th century and is pronounced "Utari".
There are countless rabbits scattered all over the place. The shrine office is open only on the 1st and the morning of the 15th. On the days when they are not there, the shrine seals are placed inside the shrine building. In the midst of all this, I discovered a huge mikoshi rabbit 🐇✨!
There is a paper with a simple explanation on how to find the other rabbits inside the shrine building.
I have visited several rabbit-related shrines, but I think this shrine has the most rabbits of all the ones I know!

[Aichi Prefecture/Toka Shrine] A shrine with a cute family of deers
Toka Shrine is Mikawa Province's Ichinomiya Shrine.
It consists of two shrines, the Okumiya Shrine at the top of Mt. Hongu and the Satomiya Shrine, which is the village shrine!
It is said that the shrine was built at the foot of Mt. Hongu in order to fulfill the wish of an old man whom Kusakado Kinnobu encountered when he was on a mission to Mikawa Province to appease Emperor Mommu's illness.
Perhaps because of the deer in the name Toka, there was a cute family of deer in the precincts!
The shrine building has a dignified feel and is a sobering sight. To the left of it is the Mikawa Ebisu Shrine, where you can tour the inside of the building and see a large statue of Ebisu.

Honeybee Village Walking Path
Located about 10 minutes from Toyokawa IC, this is a honey specialty store in a building that looks like it came out of Moomin Valley, a world like a picture book.
The store sells selected domestic honey from all over the country and was started by a married couple with the theme of "things that are kind to nature and the body."
The first floor sells honey and related products, and the second floor is a cafe (some of which are also on the first floor).
The adjacent building is a sweets shop called "Okashi no Mise" that is open only on weekends and holidays.
A little further away there is a direct sale of vegetables 🥦
They sell honey by weight and have a wide selection of rare honeys 🐝
Next time I want to go to the cafe too ☕️
It was a shop worth going out of your way to visit 🥺
