🌟Architectural design: The British Consulate is the only building on the Bund that has a large garden and green space. It was designed by the British Rossman and Bowes and built by Yu Hongji Construction Factory. ❤Architectural features: Two-story brick and wood structure. The overall design of the building is in the style of the British Renaissance. The roof is a four-slope type, using Chinese butterfly tiles, and the entire building plan is approximately square. As the Bund is located at a low terrain, a higher platform was designed with a five-arch corridor on the ground floor. Inside is a hall with flat arch window frames on both sides, a flat arch window frame in the middle of the second floor, and arch window frames on both sides. At the same time, taking into account the climatic characteristics of Shanghai, the building fully absorbed the "East Indian" architectural style. Both the ground floor and the second floor are built with spacious sunshade corridors, and the rooms are located inside the corridors.
