The Suocui Bridge near the West/South Gate is a great place to take photos of the sunrise over Jinshan Mountain. Lion Mountain Scenic Area (Figure 7) The Lion Mountain Observation Deck offers a panoramic view of the ancient city of Lijiang. Tickets are 35 yuan per person. Climbing up to the Wangu Tower will give you a wider view. 7. Baisha Ancient Town (Figure 14) is an original Naxi village at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain. The architecture here has ethnic characteristics and you can also take close-up photos of the snow-capped mountains. 8. The hotel is fully integrated into the surrounding environment of the ancient city, combining Naxi, Tibetan, and Tea Horse Road cultural elements. It is a great choice for off-peak travel. The handsome guy at the hotel front desk also upgraded me to a deluxe suite for free. It's so beautiful. When I came to Lijiang, I stayed at the InterContinental Hotel next door, so I am very familiar with the surrounding environment. Wangu Tower is an iconic landmark in Lijiang, situated at the highest point of Lion Mountain in Lijiang Ancient City, adjacent to the Mu Family Mansion. In Dongba script, Wangu Tower means "Tower of Ten Thousand Generations." In the Naxi language, it is called "Wengu Lun," meaning a place to enjoy panoramic views from a high vantage point. Due to its similar pronunciation, it was named "Wangu Tower." "Wan" symbolizes the panoramic view of Lijiang Ancient City and its pastoral landscapes, the distant view of the eternal glaciers of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and also represents Lijiang's restoration and reconstruction, leaving an everlasting legacy for generations to come. Wangu Tower is a five-eaved wooden pagoda structure. Its main body consists of sixteen pillars that extend from bottom to top, making it China's first all-wooden dougong (bracket) building with continuous pillars that are not connected. The tower has a square layout with four entrances, each guarded by a pair of stone lions with distinct poses.
