The Wenwu Temple at Sun Moon Lake features architecture inspired by the Northern Chinese palace style, making it grand and magnificent. The temple is divided into three halls: the second floor of the front hall is Shuiyun Palace, dedicated to the founding ancestor and Wenchang Emperor; the middle hall, Wusheng Hall, enshrines Guan Sheng Emperor and Yue Wumu King; and the rear hall, Dacheng Hall, is dedicated to Confucius, the Supreme Sage and Foremost Teacher. According to the temple, the main gate is kept open at all times to ensure the safety of the many visitors. The Dacheng Hall houses the only bronze statue of Confucius in Taiwan's Confucius temples. In the square in front of the temple, there are two giant red lions donated by Chairman Wu Huo-shih of Shin Kong Insurance Company, which are affectionately called 'Wu Huo Lions' by the locals.

#100WaysOfTravel First activity at Sun Moon Lake began with WenWu Temple. This 200+ year historical temple been served followers all over the world and received donors throughout the world internationally. Before we stepped into this immense extraordinary temple, we discussed that overall designs were breathtaking and interesting. While we walked through the temple, we saw lots of great landscapes designs and sculptures. Other than that we really enjoyed the view inside out of the temple. While we walking up the temple, we came across different types of handmade wall sculptures to indicate old day storylines. After we climbed up to the hill top, we noticed a small pond with variety types of Japanese fishes name Koi. Lastly before our departure, we managed to get several souvenirs and made some donations token to show our gratitude. Would like to share this outstanding Temple to everyone..
