While mariott is reliable across the globe, in China the local brands offer similar or even more luxurious options at a similar or even better price. I have always found mariott to be increasingly becoming stingy with its freebies or extras. Those things play a huge role when it comes to satisfaction. For Wenzhou this has been my spot for years. Unfortunately i always arrive at busy seasons. there seems to be a sort of lack of personalized service. I'm not saying anything majorly wrong or affects your experience a great deal. If you like running, you can run 5 km along the river in the morning, which is very comfortable. To the east is Vientiane City, which is within a 10-minute walk.
