[Egypt] Mushroom rock desert! White Desert
Egypt, where about 90% of the land area is desert. The desert area that stretches from the capital Cairo to the west of the Nile River is called the "Western Desert". Part of the desert is called the White Desert, and is a popular spot for desert tours. The White Desert, made of limestone that has been weathered and eroded over many years, is lined with countless strange rocks. The most famous of these is the "Mushroom Rock". It is interesting that depending on the viewing position, it doesn't look like a mushroom at all. The Western Desert tour is about one night and two days. We camp in the middle of this white desert, pull a futon on the desert, and fall asleep while counting shooting stars under the starry sky that seems to be spilling out. It is also a valuable experience to see wild fanucs approaching us sometimes, attracted by the smell of food. Photo on Mar 17 2023 The Mushroom rocks in White desert, a part of the Western Desert of Egypt, west far away from Nile river and Cairo, created by eroded limestone for a long time. It is so interesting and stunning!! Actually it almost never looks like a mushroom−shape seeing from the other angles.
We can sleep outside on the ground with directly a mat looking up the starry sky in the night.
