You don’t have to go to Iceland to see the blue ice beach in Xingcheng, Liaoning (with guide)
This year I came to this very niche tourist destination - Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province, to experience a different kind of ice and snow tourism. Record the winter sea with photos.
Due to the low temperature that has lasted for several days across the country, the northern coastline has formed a magnificent landscape of thousands of miles of ice. The sea is frozen and the waves have condensed into ice, appearing icy blue under the refraction of sunlight. Standing on the ice, it feels like being in "Iceland". Such a rare and romantic scenery is simply amazing.
I have specially sorted out several must-see attractions and share them with you here:
🌊Seaside (Mazu Temple, Bikini Square, Longhuitou)
Xingcheng Seaside is a national scenic spot. The seaside is 8 kilometers away from the ancient city, with a coastline of 14 kilometers. It consists of four bays: Xinghai Bay, Gangkou Bay, Bingjia Bay, and Laolong Bay. It is the largest natural bathing beach in northern my country. The beach is soft, white and crystal-clear like jade, the sea water is of appropriate depth, the water is stable and the waves are clear, and you can see the bottom
🕌Ancient City
Xingcheng Ancient City was built in the third year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (1428). It is a 4a national scenic spot and one of the four most well-preserved ancient cities of the Ming Dynasty in my country. The Ming general Yuan Chonghuan once stationed troops here. The ancient city is a square acropolis with four city gates. There are corner platforms at the four corners of the city for mounting red cannons. There are historical sites such as the Ming Dynasty Zushi Stone Archway, Bell and Drum Tower, and Confucian Temple in the city.
🏝️Juehua Island
Also known as Chrysanthemum Island, commonly known as "Dahaishan", is 18 nautical miles from the coast, covers an area of 15 square kilometers, and has a coastline of 26.5 kilometers. It is the largest island in Liaodong Bay. The whole island is in the shape of a long gourd, with high ends and a concave middle. There are two small islands at the southern end of the island, one far and one near. The far one is called Zhangshanzi Island and the near one is Zhongyanshanzi Island. There is a small round island at the north end of the island, called Mopanshan. With one large island and three small ones, they complement each other like four pearls of different sizes inlaid in the blue waves of the sea.
🏔️Shoushan
Shoushan is located 2.5 kilometers southeast of the city and is named after its shape that resembles a human head. It rises from the plain, with an altitude of more than 300 meters and is surrounded by beautiful waters. There are also ancient beacon towers built on it, and temples and pavilions are scattered in between. Looking out from the viewing pavilion, you can have a panoramic view of the scenery inside and outside Shanhaiguan.
🌊Hot Springs
According to historical records, Xingcheng Hot Springs was discovered in the early Tang Dynasty, and has a history of more than 1,300 years. Since the Yuan Dynasty, hot spring water has been widely used, and people have built Zhishuang Pavilion and Tangquan Temple here. The Northeastern warlord Zhang Zuolin built a villa near the hot springs, making the scenery of the hot spring area unique. Xingcheng Hot Spring, formerly known as "Tangquan", is located between the ancient city and the seaside. Hot springs are natural mineral springs formed by the action of underground molten rock. The spring water is clear, transparent, colorless and odorless, with a water temperature of around 67°C.
🙋After visiting Xingcheng's "city, spring, mountain, sea, and island", you can also rent a car to visit nearby attractions such as Bijia Mountain, Qingyan Temple, Huludao, and Longhuitou.
