Currently, there are no regular flights to Sado Airport, but it can be accessed by boat from Niigata or Naoetsu. It takes just a little over an hour by high-speed boat from Niigata Port to Ryotsu Port. From there it is about an hour by bus to Sado Gold Mine. There are two types of tunnels, one from the Edo period and one from the Meiji period, and it costs 1000 yen to visit either one, and 1500 yen to visit both. #FreeHotelStay We stayed at Hotel Nikko Niigata, which is adjacent to Toki Messe. Ryotsu Port and Sado Kisen are also nearby, so it's convenient. We took the jetfoil on the way there and the ferry on the way back. It was my daughter's first time on both, so I think it was a great experience. In spring, you can enjoy the beauty of nature, so it's nice to stay for a few nights, but this time it was a quick day trip. Still, we got to see the World Heritage site Kinzan and the natural monument Japanese crane for the first time, and enjoy a hot spring.
