Believe it or not, I’ve never heard of Xiamen before this trip. Thanks to Xiamen Air for having me to stopover at Xiamen for 17hrs, now I know little about Xiamen. To be honest, at first I would underestimate this city, but after taking not so short walk through Zhongsan Pedestrian Street, Yanwu Bridge, and around Xiamen University, all I can say is Beautiful! Love the ambience of this city and also the people, even sometimes we lost in translation haha, but they are so kind and helpful. Wish I can go back to this city for exploring more.

The old lady's reminders when she brought out the earthworm jelly, intertwined with the sound of guitar from the cultural and creative store next door, and even the breath carried the sweetness of old-fashioned flavor. These three sceneries are just like the triple rhyme of Xiamen: the tower spires write the future, the waves compose the present, and the old streets always brew the honey of time.

Arrive in Xiamen at noon. Take a taxi directly to Huangcuo Beach. There are not many people walking and taking pictures on the beach, probably because of the strong wind today. Turn left from Huangcuo Beach and walk straight ahead. You will pass Zengcuoan Beach, Xiamen University area, Hulishan Battery, Yanwu Bridge, and then Zhongshan Road for shopping and snacks. This route is long on foot and is suitable for young people to ride shared bicycles, but it is difficult to go uphill, and bicycles have to be parked at fixed points.
