This 4A scenic spot in Hangzhou is not simple, and you can explore it in 2025.
When it comes to karst caves, many people may be unfamiliar with them. They are natural caves formed by the dissolution and erosion of limestone by water containing carbon dioxide. Due to the different limestone content in different parts of the limestone layer, the degree of erosion varies, and they are gradually dissolved and divided into independent, diverse, steep, and beautiful peaks and karst caves with strange landscapes. The landforms formed by this process are generally called karst landforms.
With the renovation of karst caves across the country, karst cave attractions have also become well-known, and people are happy to visit and take photos when they have free time!
So, where should you go to visit karst cave attractions? We recommend a 4A scenic spot in Hangzhou, which will be open for exploration in 2025. It's quite extraordinary!
The place we want to introduce is Yaolin Wonderland in Hangzhou, also known as Yaolin Cave. It covers an area of 500,000 square meters and is a typical karst landform. It is a representative of karst caves in the subtropical humid zone in the central coastal area of East China. It is known as the "crown of all caves in the country" for its magical landforms and beautiful stone landscapes!
Historically, as early as the Song Dynasty, the poet Ke Yuezhai compared this cave to a fairyland. In the 12th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1886), the county magistrate of Tonglu, Yang Baoyi, officially named it "Yaolin Wonderland" and left an inscription, gradually making it famous. In modern times, with the improvement of various facilities, it has formed two parts: inside and outside the cave. Inside the cave, there are seven halls, the first four of which are natural landscapes, and the last three are "fairy world" amusement palaces built using sound, light, electricity, and other technological means. Outside the cave, various amusement parks and viewing areas have been built in recent years!
For first-time visitors, there are three ways to explore:
First, the classic route: Fluorescent Tunnel - Fairy Gathering - Penglai Palace - Milky Way Waterfall - Sky Pillar - Thirty-three Heavens.
Second, the adventure route: Fluorescent Tunnel - Stone Waterfall Adventure - Water Autumn Stone Pillar - Yingzhou Huabiao - Sky Pillar - Thirty-three Heavens.
Third, the leisure route: Fluorescent Tunnel - Fairy Gathering - Stalactite Wonders - Karst Cave Maze - Milky Way Waterfall - Rest Area.
In fact, if you have enough time, you can explore all three routes. After entering Yaolin Wonderland, you can follow the guide's instructions or explore on your own by following the signs. Due to the complex structure inside the cave, following the guide can help you better understand each attraction and avoid getting lost. Of course, listening to the guide's explanation can help you gain a deeper understanding of the natural wonders inside the cave.
Note that you should not miss the iconic attractions such as the "Milky Way Waterfall," "Stalactite Wonders," "Thirty-three Heavens," and "Sky Pillar." These stalactites and stalagmites are particularly spectacular under the lighting. In addition, there are no toilets inside the cave, so it is recommended to use the restroom before entering.
After a tour, it can be described as an "adventure" in the underground palace. The various stalactites inside the cave look beautiful under the colorful lights. With the addition of dreamy elements such as fireflies, fish, and jellyfish, it really feels like being in the universe, and every photo is photogenic!
In addition, this year is the Year of the Snake, and visitors born in the Year of the Snake and minors (under 18) can enter for free until February 20, 2025. Don't miss it!
