[2025 Fukuoka Restaurant] Travel Guide for Yatai (Updated Mar)

My journey in Fukuoka started at 10:00 AM, departing by JR train. At 11:00 AM, I arrived at Tanga Market, known as the local's kitchen, without much touristy embellishment. The market's atmosphere was lively and authentic, with vendors warmly greeting customers. I tasted fresh seafood and local snacks here, feeling the Fukuoka people's love and dedication to food. Every bite made me feel immersed, as if I was experiencing the real life of Fukuoka. Next, I headed to Kokura Castle, a historic castle. At 2:00 PM, I strolled through the castle's park, surrounded by beautiful flowers and ancient statues. The unique architectural style of Kokura Castle made me feel the weight of Japanese history. As the breeze blew, I took many beautiful photos here, leaving wonderful memories. In the evening, I returned to Nakasu Yatai. Here, I enjoyed authentic snacks while watching wonderful performances. The lively atmosphere of the yatai made me feel the vitality of Fukuoka, with people singing and dancing around, laughter never ceasing. I tasted tonkotsu ramen, skewers, and other delicacies, paired with local sake, feeling immensely satisfied. Although the day's itinerary was tight, it was filled with authentic food and cultural experiences. Every moment made me fall more in love with this city, looking forward to returning to Fukuoka to continue my exploration journey!

On this trip to Fukuoka, of course, I had to try the local yatai! This time, I visited the Nakasu Yatai area and tried a yatai called 'Kojima Shoten.' Yatai means enjoying freshly made food in a small space together! The owner and customers chat face-to-face, adding to the fun! This time, I ordered a beer, pork neck, oden, and more! I think the atmosphere is great, and it's a good place to get to know Fukuoka's culture! Besides, the Nakasu Yatai area has many different yatai.
