I'll introduce you to some particularly memorable photo spots from this trip!✅️ 1. In front of the huge cliffs of the valley The rock cliffs of Yolinam Valley are overwhelmingly large. When I took a photo with the cliffs as the background, I felt like I was the main character in a movie. I used the wide-angle mode to capture everything from my feet to the sky, and the grandeur of the valley was maximized even more. 2. On the river flowing along the valley There is a place where clear emerald water flows. If you sit on the rocks and take a photo, you can take a photo with a sentimental atmosphere. I recommend taking a photo in the morning when the sun is shining, because the water color is even more beautiful! 3. At a mysterious place where stone towers are piled up As you walk along the valley, there are small stone towers that travelers have piled up one by one on the riverside. The stones, carefully balanced on the rocks, looked like guardians of the valley. I sat next to the stone tower and took a calming picture, and it was like a moment of meditation~👏 4. Looking down from the valley observatory There is a small observatory in the middle of the trekking course where you can look down on the valley at a glance. If you take a picture here, the depth of the valley is emphasized even more. [Trip Moment Delivery.🗞️] Let's go to the Mongolian nature Yolin Am Canyon on this trip!!✈️ 🛄ㅣYolin Am Canyon⛰️ I left early in the morning from Dalanzadgad, the center of southern Mongolia. This is a gateway to the Gobi Desert, and many travelers pass through here to visit various attractions in southern Mongolia. I got on a pre-booked vehicle and arrived at the entrance of the canyon after about an hour and a half. As soon as I arrived, the clean air and magnificent mountain scenery unfolded before my eyes.⛰️ There was a small museum at the entrance of the canyon, where I could get information about the flora, fauna, and terrain of the Gobi region. There were exhibits introducing Mongolia's diverse wild animals and unique ecosystems, so I was able to have an interesting time before starting my trip!! As soon as I started trekking, the magnificent canyon scenery unfolded. The rock cliffs on both sides were so high that they blocked the sky, and a clear stream flowed between them. As I walked slowly along the canyon and looked around, I could really feel why this place is called the ‘Jewel of Mongolia’. I could hear the chirping of birds everywhere, and I could even see the Mongolian wild sheep, the ibex, climbing the cliff from afar~🐑 As I walked, the canyon became narrower and narrower, and as I entered a deep place where sunlight could not reach, the air suddenly became cold. And finally, I saw ice that did not melt even in midsummer. Even though it was August, there was still ice on the ground, and the cold wind brushed against my skin, adding to the mysterious atmosphere. I couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Is this really the middle of the desert?’ When I touched the ice with my hand, I was even more surprised to see that it remained solid even under the summer sun!!😬 As I walked deeper into the canyon, I felt as if I had entered another world. Everything was quiet and peaceful, and only the sound of the wind and footsteps echoed. I could feel the wonders of nature with my whole body while walking, and it was so touching to be able to experience the hidden beauty of Mongolia firsthand~👏 On the way out of the valley after finishing the trekking, it felt like I was returning to reality from another space. As I came out to the place where the sunlight was shining, warm air enveloped me again, and the vast Gobi Desert spread out before my eyes. It felt even more special that this was Mongolia!!✌️ ⛰️ | Yolin Am Travel Tips! 1. Visiting Period: June to September is the best time, and even during this period, there are often ice remaining deep in the valley. 2. What to Bring: It is recommended to bring comfortable hiking shoes, a windbreaker, water, and snacks. 3. Transportation: It is common to rent a car in Dalangzadgad or use a local tour. 4. [Trip Moment Delivery.🗞️] Let's go to Yolyn Am Museum on this trip!!✈️ 🛄ㅣYolyn Am Museum🏛 We visited Yolyn Am Valley, one of Mongolia's representative natural attractions, and the small Yolyn Am Museum located there. This place, where you can see Mongolia's history and nature at a glance, is small in size but full of very interesting exhibits!! Yolyn Am Museum is a small natural history museum located near the entrance to Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park. Here, you can see various exhibits on the national park's ecosystem, wild animals, and even dinosaur fossils. The museum is a small one-story building, but it is very helpful in understanding Mongolia's nature and history~👍 When you enter the museum, you will first see a space where Mongolia's representative wild animal specimens are displayed. Inside the glass case, stuffed animals such as ibex (wild goat), argali (wild sheep), marmot, and pika that live in this area were displayed, and the ecology and characteristics of each animal were explained. In particular, the stuffed Lammergeier, which is considered sacred in Mongolia, was impressive!! In addition, there is a dinosaur fossil exhibition hall on one side of the museum. The Gobi Desert is famous for being a place where many dinosaur fossils were discovered in the past, and here, you can see fossils such as the skull fossil of Protoceratops and claw fossil of Velociraptor. It was even more interesting because the fossils were actually discovered in this area, and I realized once again that Mongolia is an important place for dinosaur research~🦕 As soon as I entered the museum, the interior had a somewhat simple atmosphere, but it had a unique charm that allowed me to feel the nature of Mongolia. The staff kindly explained the exhibits, and since it was in Mongolian, I listened to the English explanations while viewing them!!👏 The first thing that caught my eye was the stuffed ibex and argali. I had actually seen the ibex from afar while hiking, so it was even more interesting. Even though it was a stuffed animal, it felt alive, and it was even more fascinating to hear the explanation of how they lived in this harsh environment~😃 In the dinosaur fossil exhibition area, I saw children happily taking pictures. I also observed the dinosaur claw fossil up close, and the sharp claws of the Velociraptor were truly overwhelming. The museum was not large, but it was impressive that it contained various nature and history of Mongolia in a small scale. When I came out of the museum, the surrounding scenery was so beautiful. Yolyn Am Valley/ Canyon is a deep and narrow gorge in southern part of Mongolia within Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park. It is a must-visit if you go for a gobi desert tour. Getting There - Recommend going there as part of a tour package to Gobi desert area as there are lots to discover in Gobi desert. Also you will need a experienced local driver to navigate around without getting lost. Highlights - Although Yolyn Am is within Gobi desert, there is a stunning ice field gorge which is a spectacle to see. Another highlight will be the horse riding experience where you can ride through the valley and cliffs while you admire the landscape. Originally, you could see glaciers all year round, even in the summer, but these days, due to abnormal climate, the glaciers have melted. When I went, I was disappointed that I couldn't see the glaciers, but the valley itself was still a very beautiful place. During the trekking, I was able to meet wild animals between the large rock canyons!
