The staff at check in was friendly, and registration and check in was fast and everything was in order. However, when we went into our room, it turned out that there were only 2 single beds instead of the promised 3 beds and the room did not smell good too. When we approached another staff to request that our bed be brought up immediately because we wanted to settle down in the room (didn't even request change of room), we were met with nonchalance. However, the front office manager gave us a family room with futon as service recovery for the experience and late check out. The room was way more spacious and clean. Fortunately, they did not forget the birthday cake which looked and tasted good 😋 was also a whole cake instead of just a slice. We also had fruits as part of the package. Facilties wise, the swimming pool was nice and clean, and opened till quite late. Had our afternoon tea which was simple; not the usual afternoon tea on tiered stands but instead consisted of pancakes and ice cream, with coffee and tea. They had a cute old school ice kacang machine to make ice balls for guests. Breakfast was surprisingly good for a 4* hotel with great variety; to be honest even better than some of the 5* hotels that I know of. Not withstanding the hiccup at the reception desk, everything else was okay for me.

Type of room stayed: superior room Traveling light with a light mood, encountered York Hotel with simple elegant lightmood design. Under the Goodwood Park Hotel group, but with slight modern twist, high rise building at prime location, nothing better than appreciate the splendid sunset over the windows. Room Dining service is pretty decent, overall housekeeping is neat and tidy. The interior of the room doesn't belong to the luxurious type, but somehow with the minimalist vibe. Pretty recommended for business trip or leisure stay. Stayed at the York Hotel Singapore, Presidential suite. The suite is extremely spacious and comes with a large living room. The suite is able to accommodate a family of four. The York hotel is located in the Somerset area, all the way inside the small alley from the lucky plaza and Mount Elizabeth hospital. A 10 minute walk will bring you to the hotel from there. The hotel has various room categories. From superior 27m2 to deluxe 37m2 to premier quadruple 50m2 room. The superior and deluxe comes with both queen bed and queen plus one single bed, for a family of 3. The quad room comes with 2 queen beds that are big enough for 4 adults. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. This is one of the few hotels in Singapore that caters to large families and has lots of family rooms. If you are planning for a family staycation, this is the best family hotel you can choose from. #muststay
