First, get a numbered ticket! Wander around the hot spring town until your ticket is called.
I visited the popular Hakone Yumoto restaurant "Yubadon Naokichi."
Located just a 5-minute walk from Yumoto Station, this former inn stands along the river, and is a popular restaurant that always has a long line.
You can make a reservation from the ticket machine at the entrance,
and when it's almost your turn, you'll get a notification on your mobile phone.
In the meantime, you can wander around the hot spring town,
take a walk while looking at the river flowing right next to you,
or look at souvenirs, so you won't waste any time.
Their specialty yuba bowl is a very simple dish made with freshly drawn yuba using Hakone's clean water and egg.
The bowl was rich in the aroma of dashi, lots of mitsuba,
and more salty than you'd expect, making it a satisfying dish.
If you're not sure what to have for lunch in Hakone Yumoto, this is the place to go.
