For the first time coming to Nanjing to appreciate autumn, I was thoroughly amazed! The autumn in Purple Mountain is truly intoxicating! Promise me! You must come to Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum to see the red maples 🍁, they are currently in full bloom, it's the best viewing period, don't miss it! The sunlight is the best filter, it really looks good no matter how you take the picture! Suddenly, I understood the ancient poem 'Stop the carriage to adore the maple woods at dusk, frosty leaves redder than the flowers of February.' The Chinese aesthetic is really too extraordinary! Zhongshan Mountain Scenic Area is part of a huge nature area to the East of Nanjing City Centre. There are gardens, temples, a mausoleum etc all in the same area so plenty to do for a full day or a couple of half days. Getting there is quick and easy on the metro or you can easily take an ebike along Nanjings beautiful cycle lanes like i did. The area itself is very peaceful and on a sunny spring day it looks and feels amazing.

Purple Mountain or Zijin Shan is located on the eastern side of Nanjing in Jiangsu province, China. It is 448.2 m high. Its peaks are often found enveloped in purple and golden clouds at dawn and dusk, hence its name. Linggu Si or Linggu Tower. This tower is very tall and also located in Zhong Shan Jing Qu Ming Sheng Qu 钟山风景名胜区. It is hard to find and it needs to spend the time to find the right path leading to this tower. But when you climb up, you will be rewarded by incredible and breathtaking view on whole area around. Tower's every level has a window or balcony so pictures could be taken at the different altitude. I was so happy to find this tower.

The music stage of Zhong Shan Jing Qu Ming Sheng Qu 钟山风景名胜区. This is Nanjing city, Jiangsu province. This is very good place, perfect option to take a rest after you have roamed the park half of the day. Fountain is providing beautiful view. The music stage is made from stone and looks attractive. Yes, there are a lot of pigeons waiting you share the piece of bread with them. Very romantic place!

Shixiang Road. Nanjing city, Zhong Shan Jing Qu Ming Sheng Qu 钟山风景名胜区. Every mausoleum has a long road connecting the realm of rest with our world which should be walked in to reach the tomb. Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum has a greatest one. On your way you will meet mystique animals, creatures sculptured from hard stone and the gates, of course, the way lies trough the forest with different kind of trees. No doubt, this is exciting manic journey.

Zhongshan is often surrounded by purple clouds and so it is also known as Purple Mountain. Zhongshan and Houhu are in harmony, with a foundation in Nanjing. With the trend of “Dragons”, Zhongshan stands on the bank of the Yangtze River, covered in smog, and after thousands of years, it is still covered in lush greenery.  The number of kings and heroes, pines and multiculturism were outstanding in the mountains. Amongst these are the Six dynasty culture, the Ming dynasty culture, the Republican culture, the landscape culture, the ecological leisure culture, and the Buddhist culture. I never imagined that there would be such an excellent forest hiking oxygen bar hidden behind Zijin Mountain. The mountains undulate along the way, with towering ancient trees, streams, and few people, as if you are exploring in a primeval forest. 🚶 The hiking and stream tracing route here is quite long, about 8 km in total. 🌦️ It is recommended to hike after the rain, when the streams in the valley are gurgling and full of fun.
