Hey everyone👋! As a travel enthusiast who loves to explore, I recently visited Hanzhong, and it was absolutely stunning in April💘! Rapeseed flower fields, ancient plank roads, local delicacies… every spot was amazing. I'm sharing my personal travel guide with you all, so let's go!
📍 Hanzhong, located in southern Shaanxi, is known as the "Little Jiangnan of the Northwest"🌿. Nestled between the Qinling Mountains to the north and the Bashan Mountains to the south, it boasts the grandeur of the north and the elegance of the south. In April, millions of acres of rapeseed flowers bloom in Hanzhong, creating a golden sea of flowers that complements the green mountains and villages. It is also the birthplace of the Two Han and Three Kingdoms cultures, with a rich history that makes every photo a masterpiece!
🚄 Transportation Guide
✈️ Airplane: Fly to Chenggu Airport, about 20 kilometers from the city center. A taxi or airport bus will take you directly to the city center in about 30 minutes, super convenient~
🚄 High-speed Rail: Hanzhong Station has many trains, and it only takes 1-2 hours from Xi'an or Chengdu! Buses and taxis are readily available outside the station, making it easy to reach various attractions.
🚗 Self-driving: Self-driving is ideal from surrounding cities, with stunning scenery along the way! However, be aware of the winding mountain roads. Check the route in advance and drive carefully~

Day 1: Mian County Rapeseed Flower Sea - Zhuge Ancient Town
Head straight to Mian County in the morning and immerse yourself in the endless rapeseed flower fields🌼. You won't be able to stop taking photos! At noon, try a bowl of hot rice noodles at a roadside restaurant. They are soft and chewy, served with bean sprouts and chili oil, so delicious😋! In the afternoon, visit Zhuge Ancient Town and experience the Three Kingdoms culture. The red walls and gray tiles are perfect for taking ancient-style photos~
Day 2: Shimen Plank Road - Xinghan Shengjing
Visit Shimen Plank Road in the morning, stroll along the ancient path, listen to the flowing water of the Bao River, and feel like you've traveled back in time. Have a Bao River fresh fish lunch. The fish is tender, spicy, and flavorful, truly unforgettable! In the afternoon, go to Xinghan Shengjing and watch a "Han Song" performance to experience the grandeur of the Han Dynasty. The night view is breathtaking when the lights come on✨!
Day 3: Liping National Forest Park - Return Trip
Head to Liping in the morning. The forest park is lush and green in April, with waterfalls, streams, and strange rocks… like a paradise. Try the local walnut bread for lunch.
