Two-day tour in Guangzhou, encountering art and ancient charm
#Guangzhou Itinerary
In Guangzhou, there is a kind of art called Liangcang, a kind of nostalgia called Zinitang, and a kind of fireworks called Huangpu Ancient Port. In two days, we will take you through the literature and ancient charm of Guangzhou and unlock some niche and hidden check-in spots.
Day 1: Explore the Creative Park
Morning: Arrive at Liangcang New Creative Park, which used to be a national grain storage area. Now it has been transformed into a check-in spot for young artists. The Soviet-style red brick wall building, matched with simple colors, has a romantic filter of an exotic town. Take a stroll through it and simply press the shutter button to capture pictures full of atmosphere. There are also various creative shops and specialty cafes here. When you are tired of shopping, you can sit down and have a cup of coffee and enjoy a relaxing time.
Noon: Have dinner at restaurants in or around Liangcang Creative Park and try Cantonese cuisine, such as steamed spare ribs with black bean sauce and white-cut chicken, to experience the authentic Guangdong flavor.
Afternoon: Go to Zinitang, which was formerly the Zini Sugar Factory. Now it is a perfect collision of abandoned industrial style and beautiful fresh style. Check out factory buildings of different styles from the 1950s to the 1990s, and admire art installations made from discarded materials. You can also visit shops in various industries such as innovative technology, art education, etc., where you may find unique small items.
Day 2: Explore the Ancient Port
Morning: Arrive at Huangpu Ancient Port, an important witness of Guangzhou’s “Maritime Silk Road”. When you enter the ancient port, go to the Guangdong Sea First Checkpoint Memorial Hall to learn about the prosperous history of foreign trade at that time. Then stroll along the ancient port pier and imagine the bustling scene of merchant ships in the past. The Gugang Park area is shaded by green trees and is perfect for a leisurely walk.
Noon: Taste authentic snacks around Huangpu Ancient Port. Maoji Boat Congee is a must-try delicacy. The porridge contains rich ingredients such as fish slices and fried peanuts, and tastes delicious. There is also the Gugang Naipo Ginger Milk, which is sweet, tender and smooth, with just the right ginger flavor. One bite and it’s full of the Cantonese flavor.
Afternoon: Continue to explore the streets and lanes of Gugang, visit the quaint ancestral halls, and experience the rich Lingnan culture. If you have time and energy, you can wander around the surrounding villages and experience the local customs and culture.
Transportation
Liangcang Xinzao Creative Park: You can take Metro Line 4 to Xinzao Station, exit from Exit A1 and walk to the park in about 15 minutes. You can also take Bus No. 77 near the subway entrance and get off at Xinzao Hospital Station.
