Pulau Ketam is a fishing village island located at Malacca Strait, Malaysia. It is famous of crabs. Most of the restaurants or coffee shops do serve crabs for various cookings. Taking public transport is one of the easiest and cheapest way to get there. From KL sentral, you can take train (Komuter) to station Port Klang and then ferry to Pulau Ketam. Simple and nice. You can find a lot of homestays and small hotels if you wish to spend a night there. Overall it is a good short getaways for everyone✌🏼

#newyearnewtrip Glad that husband and I choose to go this place for a date day while son at school. Catch a boat from Port Klang, cost RM20 for 45 mins calm boat ride. At the island, have fun rent a scooter/bike go around the island. During the ride we laughed so much until our cheeks hurt because we both are afraid of the ride yet still want to give it a try. We survived and had a great time together. While there, eat a lot of seafoods!! It’s cheap as compared to in the city.

An island that can be reached by train in about 2 hours from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After getting off the train, it's a 30-minute boat ride. There are so many small crabs that it's called Crab Island. The island is mainly seafood restaurants. The seasoning may be Chinese... The residents seem to be mostly Chinese. I get the impression that they often don't speak English. There's nothing on the island, but you can rent a motorbike and get around. You can enjoy a relaxing time and rural scenery that you won't find in Kuala Lumpur. It's perfectly possible to go there as a day trip, so if you have some spare time, I recommend you visit. #KetamPilot #Malaysia

It takes about one hour and forty minutes to transfer by train from Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station to Port Klang South Coast Ferry Terminal, just like my experience more than ten years ago. The ticket machines at KL Central Station do not accept cash. Payment must be made with a credit card or Malaysian Payment System, which is quite inconvenient. Fortunately, a local student helped me and bought it for me using a personal payment system, and I gave him cash. Take a boat from South Coast Pier to Crab Island (Pulau means "island", Ketam means "crab" in Malay; "Kedam" is the Chinese transliteration of the name) It takes about 35 minutes and the round trip ticket is 20 yuan per person. RM20. Pulau Ketam is famous for its delicious seafood. After years of fishing and consumption by a large number of diners who came here after hearing about the news, the seafood available now is much worse than when I first came here more than ten years ago. I feel very sorry. If viewed from the perspective of travel experience, Pulau Ketam, which can be visited in an hour, is quite special. This empire built by the Hokkien Chinese fishermen with great difficulty is worth remembering. Nowadays, many young islanders are going to other places to develop. After the fishery resources are exhausted, I wonder what the future of Pulau Ketam will be?
