Sade Village, Lombok
Sade Village, located in Rembitan, Pujut, Central Lombok, is a traditional village that offers a glimpse into the life of the Sasak people, the indigenous inhabitants of Lombok. The village is renowned for its well-preserved traditional houses, known as **Bale Tani**, which are constructed using natural materials like bamboo, thatch, and clay. These houses are designed to be earthquake-resistant, showcasing the ingenuity of the Sasak architecture.
One of the unique aspects of Sade Village is the practice of using buffalo dung to coat the floors of the houses. This traditional method is believed to keep the floors clean, strengthen them, and repel insects. The village is also known for its rich cultural traditions, including unique marriage customs where women are symbolically "kidnapped" by their suitors.
Visitors to Sade Village can experience the daily life of the Sasak people, observe traditional weaving techniques, and participate in cultural performances. Despite being close to modern infrastructure, the village maintains its traditional way of life, making it a fascinating destination for those interested in cultural tourism.

Sade Village, Lombok
#wecreate
This is a traditional village where you will find the typical houses sasak people live in. The local mosque is impressive. Even though local people are traditionally farmers, growing rice, this village will not give you an insight on the rice cultivation, but it will present you their second traditional livelihood, which is hand weaving. Therefore, nowadays you will find in every house women of different age selling traditional products. These products are usually the same and you feel sorry for not buying from everyone. From this point of view, visiting this village can be also sad. I recommend to find a house, where is one woman selling paintings, they are very impressive and it is not something you find on every corner.
